translated using the almighty goole translator

Puerto Vallarta, resort located in the state of Jalisco, introduced in the last days recorded its first case of a drug addict krokodil, known for causing severe injuries on the body.

The announcement was made by José Sotero Ruiz Hernández, an official of the National Migration Institute (INM), who said that a young 17 year old went to the premises of the Instituto Mexicano local Social Security (IMSS) with lacerations on his genitals.

"There is a case that we had seen in the Social Security: the girl who consumed the drug in their noble parts had already had an infection and rotten, it was not sex, explained that it was two months krokodil consuming. He's 17 years old. Says Young sell like cocaine Seesaw ", gets the news site Global Local Newspapers.

"Drugs that has reached Mexico City and there is evidence that also Vallarta, cheap and highly addictive and can be consumed in three ways as cocaine, heroin and crystal," the official said.

In recent months the substance of low cost and high side effects called krokodil has caused outrage with his arrival in the United States and its border with Mexico, but the alert was given since 2010 in Russia. The so called "new heroine" not only killed addicts, but that practically ate alive.

The alarm was raised from the poorest areas of that country, places where you usually get the most economical and dangerous drugs, and not just in Russia but in every nation around the world.

In highly technical terms the krokodil is desomorphine, also known by its old trade name Permonid, which is obtained from the reaction between thionyl chloride and codeine, the latter, a substance that can be found in medications such as cough syrups.

From these drugs, mixed with iodine and red phosphorous, which leaves matchbooks, and reacted with fire. The final dose, injected like heroin, may have cost the equivalent of a dollar or 10 Mexican pesos.

The most visible effects caused by the drug is that "dry and exposes the raw flesh, and gives flaky skin before dispersing appearance," said Phoenix experts to find the first cases.

Its easy to prepare homemade way and achieved low price makes it one of the most dangerous drugs, so experts and Russian activists have expressed the need to show the public the terrible effects that the consumer is exposed.

Damn that is not good that it came from eastern europe and hit mexico, that means theres probably gonna be alot more of it flowing into the US (cant remember if its been reported here yet)
I think they'd jump on hillbilly heroin oxy before something you can easily make on your own. Plus I doubt the cartel would push something that is inexpensive and that would kill half of its consumer base if they miss a vein.

Only two kinds of people could potentially succumb to it; impressionable idiots and broke junkies.

Google image search "krokodil"

Marry fucking christmas, im out!
Why would people in Mexico resort to that? Is cocaine that expensive there? I would think it would be a lot cheaper than most other places.

BTW, the initial reason junkies in Russia started cooking desomorphine was not even that it was cheaper than heroin, it was that the supply of drugs to remote northern cities was very irregular. Imagine getting the heroin from Afghanistan to Vorkuta, Norilsk or some other place like that in the middle of nowhere, many thousands of kilometers away. It's not that easy to ensure regular supplies so there were many occasions on which the drought was severe and prolonged.

The supply problem should not exist in Mexico though...

Also, krokodil is not a "Flesh Eating Drug". It is desomorphine synthesized from the codeine in cough medicines.

If you get it synthesized in a real lab and inject it at high purity, it will never cause gangrene. The problem is that they are often buying pills, grinding and then cooking them with acid and other nasty stuff, and then injecting the resulting mixture. The chemicals are no good for you on their own, but it's the quite large particles that often remain in the mixture from the pills that are the main cause for the gangrene and the rotting as they clog blood vessels.

You make krokodil by mixing codeine with paint thinner, gasoline, and several other toxic ingredients.
