The one that used to be in my town closed about 1-1 1/2 years ago. Funny thing was, while they were still open, I was cleaning some of my wife's shit and found two $25 Blockbuster gift cards. I took them down to Blockbuster to use them and they said some shit about since they were currently in the process of being bought out by Dish, they weren't taking gift cards. They said they might take them once the deal was finalized. Needless to say, they closed a few months later and I was stuck with $50 of unused Blockbuster gift cards. I asked my wife when they were given to her and she said about 2 years prior. I still have them, too. I guess I'll be throwing them out now.

As a kid I used to rent Sega Genesis games like NHL 95 then I'd make some custom characters and name them things like "dumb slut" or "fuck face" always hoping the next kid who rented it would find the characters.

Its funny you guys say that cuz I live in National City, San diego and the one on Euclid is always packed! Me n my wife n kids are all mad cuz every Saturday we would get donuts and rent movies n chill. Not anymore

Family Video is popping up all over the place over here and seems kinda successful and I think they're basically just as expensive as Blockbuster. There was one about a year ago close to my house and it seemed like they were doing alright but they're all closed over here I'm pretty sure now.
