For his Sept. 14 clash with RING and WBC junior middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez (42-0-1, 30 knockout), it was confirmed on Wednesday by Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer and Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe that Mayweather (44-0, 26 KOs) will earn a guaranteed $41.5 million purse.

Lol. I know it sucks seeing Mayweather taking over your holiday weekend again. Hang in there maybe Canelo can pull it off. Not likely but maybe he can.

But yet offering Manny $40 million to fight 2012 was not a good deal. Lol. You have to love hating ass double standard boxing fans.
Lol wut? How does Floyd's purse in this fight have anything to do with pac? Man u just love to bring up pacquaio for no reason.

Pac vs Floyd = easily over 2 million buys (likely would have broke record)
Floyd vs Canelo = probably between 1.5-1.8 million buys

I bet none of u guys seen mannys house in the filipines....shits all over floyds
It only cost $.96 to build, of course it is. j/k That is a 3rd world country though compared to the U.S. Either way, he shouldn't have turned down 40 mil. Floyd would also have a much bigger house if he didn't blow his money on silly stuff.

You realize that $40 million flat fee was for Golden boy/Floyd to promote the fight right, cutting out Top Rank while pacquiao had a contract with top rank, right? He legally couldn't accept such a bullshit offer. Further, the richest fight in History pacquiao would get ZERO percent of the PPV, meaning Floyd gets it all so he gets $80-$100 million and Pac $40? Yeah thats fair.

I think the fact that they were flat out offering $40 million says a lot about what was on the table. Yes, I agree it was a stupid offer and couldn't be done because of Top Rank, but ultimately I think that could've been hashed out too. At the end of the day, Pac went on to make less and get knocked out. Canelo steps in and is in what may be the richest fight in history and is projected to get like $10.5 mil guaranteed. Floyd should get the lion's share but if either guy was that serious about making the fight, it would've been done.

What are you talking about it could have been handled? Pac was legally under contract with Top Rank, you think Bob Arum would say Sure Pacquiao, let my rival promote you for the richest fight in history I'll sit this one out! It was a bunk offer. Floyd isn't stupid he knew that wouldn't work. Thats never how boxing works, ever. If he was serious he would have tried to have GB and TR negotiate, not try to cut out Arum which would have got Pac sued to his eyeballs.

I think that was all b.s. anyone in their right mind knows Arum wasn't going to sheep down and let them do that. But I think they could've really worked out a deal. If that was the only serious offer from Floyd or GB, that's obviously stupid and gay.

but that's the downside of Floyd promoting himself and having GB do the work cuz they see too much money that some fighters and people look at it as getting ripped off, especially with someone of the magnitude of Manny. Money is a pressure point, and that's why Floyd took this fight, cuz he wasn't making money for Shosports. Have Floyd fight any other boxer would he get a milli buys? 2 straight ppv's and not being #1 in ppv's before a Manny fight? floyd and Sho would look stupid homie

He did go through GB...with the first negotiations...that didn't work. Pac should have held off signing with Arum and made the fight with Floyd but he chose to sign so FAST that you knew he didn't care to talk to Floyd at any point. Sorry for the sig...it's a joke with another siccness member.

I think Canelo has a good shot in pulling off the upset. If he hurts Floyd he may finish him off... Cotto had Floyd hurt somewhat.

If Canelo does win, can't hate on the dude. He's carrying himself with a lot of class and is coming to win! He accepted the fight, the purse, drug testing, etc... if anyone deserves to beat Floyd and take the torch it should be Canelo.

Props to Floyd for taking the toughest fights out there and fighting fighters that are coming off of wins.... at least he doesn't purposely fight fighters that have big names and losses.

I'm still taking Floyd in this fight by close UD.
