I can't even front, I'm a little worried in the early rounds cuz of the size difference. Canelo gonna gas out after that though
Why worry...Floyd Mayweather won't engage with Canelo Alvarez until the 4th round once he get's an understanding of how well Alvarez can move laterally. Floyd will do the same thing as what Austin Trout did in the beginning...win the war of the jabs and force Canelo to come forward...then just like Guillermo Rigondeaux forced Nonito Donaire to come forward after winning the distance war he picked him apart...game over. Canelo wont be able to cut the ring off...his footwork is poor...Floyd will pop him on the stop of a dime and Canelo will never be able to set his feet for a second...Floyd will gauge Cinnamon's conditioning and give it a couple of rounds in the pocket between the 7-10th rounds...then go back to boxing for the 11 and 12th rounds. Canelo claims he is mentally tough but he really got frustrated with Trout very early (Trout also showed signs of frustration with Canelo as Canelo weaved and bobbed) and the major problem with Alvarez having to track down a mobile fighter is he reached with a lot of his punches at times falling off balance and getting out of position. Canelo showed good defense but the problem is making the other fighter pay at the same time...Canelo is not a consistent counter puncher ...not against Trout (he did land beautiful counter upper cuts) and definitely not against Mayweather's speed. He has to lead and score...because making your opponent miss will only tire you out if your not making them pay. Separation time...Floyd can pop you in closed quarters...when other fighters disengage from the break then take a step back...Floyd barley moves and genrates speed a pops the opponent: Shane Mosley, Victor Ortiz, Juan Marquez, Robert Guerrero, Diego Corales, Aturo Gatti...it's happened to all these fighters...and then the inevitable mental collapse starts to happen and it goes down hill...even with the veteran Genaro Hernández it happened. Canelo hasn't mentally frustrated ANYONE his entire career...he has OVERPOWERED the situation...and in a backwards way he is already losing mentally because he is convinced he is Floyd's equal...after the 5th round of hearing the crowd go "OHHH OHHH OHHH OHH SHIT...MIERDA OHH!!!" His pride is going to be hurt and he is going to become unglued from embarrassment (sorry for being long winded).

LMFBAO!!!! HAHAAAAAA...I can't WAIT to read his comeback reply this should be funny. Will he presents facts of his own...or just completely change the coarse of the conversation lol.
Everything sounds about right but...No 50/50. Strait from the horse's mouth.

"Just by speaking to Pacquiao on the phone, I mean, he's not one of the sharpest knives in the drawer," Mayweather said. "He faces Floyd Mayweather, he's not getting 50-50. Not at all. No one is getting 50-50."

And all that shit is for power and control. From the venue to the weight of the gloves. Even though he made tons of money, Oscar and Golden Boy pimped him. Think they made 3 times as much when that pay per view money came in. Golden Boy called all the shots. Even the ring size was made smaller to Oscars advantage and to mentally fuck with him. Since then Mayweather's promotion team now TMT has learned to do the same. He won the fight but his business took an L that night. How are you gonna win the fight and still get a third of the prize money? Still wonder why their relationship suffers? lol Because he knows he got pimped. He isn't stupid. Think about it. He's not offering anybody half of shit. Don't think your gonna find a more reliable source than ESPN buddy.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. says Manny Pacquiao 'not one of the sharpest,' not getting 50-50 split - ESPN

Okay...I could wait till someone else comes in and sees your post but the 50/50 agreement was done BEFORE their phone negotiation...didn't you see the post by bigface? As qoated below--->

...Just stop it it's been 3 years already and Manny is just now getting randomly tested for bum bum Rios. The fact is Manny ran from the Mayweather.

The first negotiations for the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight began in late 2009. On December 11, 2009, Golden Boy Promotions sent a fight contract on behalf of Mayweather to Top Rank, Pacquiao's promoter. The contract reportedly stipulated a March 13, 2010 fight date, and proposed a 50-50 financial split between the two sides.

That took place BEFORE the infamous phone call where Pacquiao ran from $40 million.

Ohh wow bro...a more reliable source than ESPN...you really got your escape routs covered huhn? No one can pin you down...well here is ESPN again for you just to shore up your timeline of the events...Floyds and Manny's phone conversation took place around Jan 20th 2012...the 50/50 split was offered in 2009 what proof do you have otherwise...you never divulged that info buddy?

Honestly, if it weren't for Canelo's stamina being in question, I would take him to beat Mayweather. I'm kinda leaning for Canelo to win for some stupid reason. Or maybe I'll just be less surprised if he wins at this point or something, I don't know. Obviously, I wouldn't be surprised if Floyd takes a 117-111 UD either. I guess that says a lot about the match up

Side note, and this could be wrong, but if it's right it's pathetic...

This is Canelo's second (straight) unification match, but it is it is Floyd's first in his career.

This happens everytime! Everyone should just agree both pac and floyd, AND all the parties involved (Top Rank, Golden Boy), fucked up and both were to blame. In hindsight in 2009, Pac should have just took the 14 days or whatever it was, Floyd was unreasonable after that. So you have two guilty fighters here for fucking things up, then the promoters made it even worse by Oscar saying Pacquiao has something to hide, Bob Arum talking shit, all of this should have been behind closed doors not with the media. So simply put - they all fucked it up. End of discussion.

Now, Canelo vs Floyd, and everything on this card is what this thread is for. Carry on with "The One" discussion.

Bottom line. Who has the power to make the fight now? Pac man lost 2 fights in a row and would jump through hoops for that opertunity. I still want to see the fight. Do you?
Imma try tah rap it up with you...yeah I would like to see the fight...BUT Manny Pacquiao has a mountain to climb for respectability cause RIGHT NOW if Floyd fought Pacquiao next (let's say Pac beats Rios only barely) it would be a cherry pic...the guy has lost to two smaller fighters (with one loss by KO) and there are a score of more deserving fighters than Pac at this moment: Timothy Bradley, Juan Marquez, Danny Garcia, Lucas Matthysse, Devon Alexander, Sergio Martinez, Mike Alvarado the list goes on...Pac is somewhere right next to Amir Khan banking on the past. And don't justify the fight by saying..."It will make the most financial sense."...because that is the type of thinking that has gotten the game fucked up now...when boxing puts "money" over "merit"...I'm done.

Not really man cuz at the end of the day It's about money and realistically there is Matthysse/Garcia winner after that slim pickings. Alexander PPV would flop, Marquez... why? Bradley unlikely since he's top rank plus wouldn't sell good. Martinez fight isn't happening. Only money fight other than Pac is Khan but let's be real he nearly lost to Joel Julio and he'll likely get KOd by Alexander in December. But still, this is fantasy talk - floyd has said he'll never fight him so thats that. So we should all move on - they both had chances to make the fight and both blew it. It's over.

"All you have to do is look at the opponents that he's faced in the past. I don't really know too many of the opponents that he's faced in the past, but a lot of these guys went the distance with him and we're not talking about A and B [class] fighters, we're talking about C and D fighters. Then they would go into the eight round or ninth round and he would get hit with numerous shots," Mayweather said.

"He didn't knock Austin Trout out. Then you have to look at the fighters he faced before that. There were some fighters he went the distance with and some fighters that he should have knocked out. He went the distance with Ricky Hatton's brother and Ricky Hatton's brother is not on the same level as a Floyd Mayweather."

Mayweather later stated that Juan Manuel Marquez, not Canelo, has the biggest following among the Latin and Hispanic boxing fans.

"I don't really know who out of the Latin and Hispanic fighters has the biggest following. If I had to say so, I would say Marquez because he has accomplished more and he has done a lot for the sport of boxing. I don't want to say that Canelo has the biggest following, I would say Marquez," Mayweather said.

who cares who has the biggest following, mayweather sounds stupid when he talks like this(newsflash) canelo is still young (public wise, mexican and american) in the end his legacy will speak for what he does in the ring as far as a following goes. and i think he'll be "bigger" by the end of his career. i think sometimes floyd wishes he were mexican. lol...

Nah...bra...Floyd Mayweather isn't stupid...he's discrediting Canelo Alvarez by using Juan Manuel Marquez against him. He knows Marquez really don't give a shit about Canelo and vice versa. So Mayweather is siding with Marquez to dig under Alvarez's skin to further drive home that not only is Canelo's fight resume undeserving of his status his FAN BASE is manufactured as well...(by appearing on the under card of Mayweather fights as stated by Floyd). Also Oscar knows Canelo ain't gonna win...Canelo isn't even as talented as Oscar was when Oscar faced Floyd. Oscar would have beat Austin Trout and Canelo at 154 lbs in my opinion.
