Alright...starting with the mid range people: Where do I fall off the mark? Is it subject matter? Word linkage? Execution? Clarity?
All of the above. Your subject matter is boring, you say nothing I haven't heard 10x before. Everything is just average at best. Look, I see this turning into a long drawn out back and forth where you don't listen.
You're not a rapper, you weren't born to be a rapper, youre forcing something that isn't there. You were born to sell t-shirts, or something else average, just like most other people, its not a slight, its a fact. All these people, from all these regions, in all these categories have talent, a natural flair, an interesting perspective, their brains work in a non-average way that produces something intriguing to others. Call it swag, or charisma, or character, or whatever.
They take ideas, and concepts, and stories, and fold it all over a beat that gets to a point but is still entertaining. They don't sit down and say "Im going to write a dance song today."
Rap is not entirely a formula to follow, you need to bring an x factor to the table, you can paint Dali by numbers, but when youre done youre just going to have something assembled together.
What makes Eminem, Tech N9ne, RA the Rugged Man, etc etc better is their unique perspective, these aren't average people that want to be rappers, they have a unique skillset of a mind that looks at words and ideas differently, a charismatic style, and a natural gift of flow and ability to ride a beat.
Honestly if YOU don't see why you fall extremely short THAT is the problem. Go find the most mediocre, semi sub-par, average, everyday Rugged Man verse ever, and compare it to something you feel you shine on, then check back in with me.
