Matt Flynn hasn't shown me anything that makes me believe he can be a starter. If they decide to go with Flynn though I got his back for now, gotta give the guy a chance, but I would much rather see what TP can do.

TP is one of the few people who actually act like they want to be an Oakland Raider, the dude busted his ass in training camp and is actually trying to improve his game to be a great QB, add his work ethic in with his athleticism and he has the chance to do good things. I really want to see the guy succeed.

Call it a controversy, if you'd like.

Following a productive Friday night against the Bears, there has been some clamoring amongst Oakland Raiders fans to start Terrelle Pryor over Matt Flynn, with the common reprise of "why not?"

Head coach Dennis Allen admitted that the team would have to consider giving Pryor a long look. But the Raiders are now giving Pryor first-team reps in practice and will start him in the preseason finale against the Seattle Seahawks with once-presumed starter Matt Flynn suffering from a bit of arm fatigue.

This has to feel like a horrible case of déja vu for Flynn, who allowed Russell Wilson to usurp the starting position for the Seahawks last preseason and now could be on the verge of relinquishing it in Oakland.

Certainly, the elbow could heal up — if indeed Flynn is really all that hurt — in time for the Raiders' regular-season opener at Indianapolis. But another energizing performance on Thursday could elevate Pryor regardless of Flynn's health.

why did the raiders release Cribbs?

I'm reading it's because he hasn't gotten his speed back since his knee surgery in the off season.

Basically he's slow and then that kickoff fumble on Friday didn't help either.

Cribbs has played garbage. Only good thing he was good at in his career was returning kicks and hasn't done that good here. Jacoby did better with one return.

Raiders cut return specialist Josh Cribbs

ALAMEDA -- Return specialist and special teams player Josh Cribbs was the most notable of the first 10 players cut by the Raiders Sunday.

Cribbs mishandled two kickoffs in a 36-24 loss to the Chicago Bears, muffing the first before picking it up, with the Raiders getting a break on the second when officials ruled him to be down before the ball was lost.

Returning from offseason knee surgery, Cribbs was never able to show the kind of burst that resulted in eight career returns for touchdowns. Presumably, it was affecting his ability to cover kicks as well, another reason he was added to the roster.

The decision was made easier when Jacoby Ford flashed some of his pre-injury form, racing 62 yards with a kickoff after Cribbs appeared to be running in mud on the first two.

As a vested veteran, Cribbs had his contract terminated and he is free to sign with any team.

Players who were waived by the Raiders were linebacker Keenan Clayton, linebacker Eric Harper, fullback Jon Hoese, wide receiver Sam McGuffie, guard Andrew Robiski, wide receiver Tray Session, defensive tackle Myles Wade and wide receiver Isiah Williams.

In addition, center/guard Alex Parsons thanked the Raiders for the "opportunity to play the game I love'' on his Twitter account. Parsons, who did not play because of injury against Chicago, is likely working out an injury settlement with the team.

Assuming Parsons is no longer on the roster, the Raiders have four more cuts to make to get to the limit of 75 players. Rosters must be at 53 on Saturday, two days after Thursday's preseason finale in Seattle.

As the players opened their first team session Sunday, Terrelle Pryor was at quarterback and Menelik Watson at left tackle.
Players who were working with the athletic training staff and not on the field were strong safety Tyvon Branch (ribs), wide receiver Brice Butler (hamstring) and wide receiver Rod Streater (concussion).
Players who were suited up and on the field included cornerback Tracy Porter (groin) and free safety Usama Young (hamstring).

negative, Raiders ain't any worse than the bottom 5 in the NFL and if you believe they're worse than teams like the Browns, Chiefs (still getting hype and I have no idea why, because of Alex Smith? lol), Eagles, Jaguars, Cardinals, Jets, Buccaneers, Bills etc you're showing true haterism. Don't get me wrong we're down there with those teams, but saying 0-16 is retarded as fuck. A lot of terrible teams in the NFL this year, I'm sure the Raiders could beat a lot of them lol

Raiders LG Tony Bergstrom suffered a "significant" foot injury in Thursday's preseason finale, and is out indefinitely.
Yet another blow for the overmatched Raiders. Lucas Nix will now slide in at left guard, with Mike Brisiel remaining at right guard. A 2012 third rounder, Bergstrom is already 27 years old. He appeared in nine games as a rookie, making one start. He'll be verging toward "bust" status if he misses all of 2013.

Moore is dealing with a toe injury and will be reevaluated Monday. The Raiders would be forced to start Kaluka Maiava if he's unable to play, moving Kevin Burnett to strong-side linebacker.
