I was born in 1978. The first time I heard an artist from the bay, it was spice 1 (Menace II society ost). Then, I got 5 on it hits also Europe. I'm sorry but the luniz had more impact in terms of success than all eyez on me. I listened Can you feel me because of the remix with dru down, etc.
Many of OST feature bay artist (the great white hype, high school high, original gangstas (3x Krazy!).
All eyez on me has nothing to do with their temporary fame.
Spice 1 or E-40 helped 2 Pac more he did.
i got 5 on it, Yukmouth, Numbskull and Dru Down did so much for Oakland more 2 Pac. 2 Pac is a brought-in piece for the Bay area ""a l'instar de" Master P even if their influence cannot denied.
You have to make a difference between the man and the artist. Louis -Ferdinand Celine was an asshole, but he wrote Voyage au bout de la nuit, a masterpiece. He needed one book to made history as Dru Down did for the bay area rap.

i know alot on here are bias to mainstream for whatever lame reason but lets be real here.off top technically dr. dre, jay-Z, p diddy, Suge knight own that title for putting on the most successful rappers.

wow you cant compare MJ to non of those rappers he out sold and worth more then all them put together dude is worth billion. he was the closet thing to a living god. he a legend forever bc he did impact shit like have the highest selling album ever THRILLER, being the first black artist to get constant play on MTV he broke the color barriers, his music changed peoples lives you see all the muhfuckas passing out being strechered out at his shows. he sold out numerous headlined world tours when most cats never even did a full national tour or headlined one.

C.bo was the only rapper arrested for his lyrics..I think it was track 2 off of til my casket drop..and I think that was when the mobfigaz was first put on by C.bo..but first time I heard the jack was on that compilation outta Pittsburg ..wit the hook " I'm the jacka mista calico packa smash in da acura
