Dumb. I've got a gay friend who's attended the same church for probably ten years and they've never once preached about being gay and its moral consequences in reference to The Bible, nor has he really dealt with any staff-related scrutiny for being gay. The congregation of the church, on the other hand, hasn't been as welcoming.

Its just the idea that "if you pray hard enough...you can cure your homoness". Like....really? The fact that the president is gay, speaks volumes. Ever heard of reaction formation? Read up on it. Thats exactly what is happening here.
