I don't know if it is the same people, it feels the same, if you know what I mean. But, yeah, Purge is horrible, I heard the premise of the movie and thought of 1 million different movies in my head, the actual movie was 1000x weaker than any of those. It has no balls, its predictable, its bafflingly stupid, and for a movie about a time period where murder is legal, its not as violent as I hoped. The one thing that would have saved it was if it was blatantly over the top violent.

My advice would be watch the opening credits with the murder/news clips from the previous years purge, and the first 15 minutes to set the tone, then go home and make up the rest in your head.
