"The only thing preventing a fight between Floyd Mayweather and me is Floyd Mayweather," Pacquiao elaborated. "He no longer wants to split the pay-per-view revenue with me equally, something he agreed to in our first negotiation. Will the fight ever happen? It's up to Floyd. I hope it does. I'm a competitor and I enjoy a challenge. I know the fans want to see us fight. I think it would be good for boxing. As long as I continue fighting I will remain hopeful that the fight will take place."

While Pacquiao is right about the fact that the split wasn't a problem during their earlier rounds of negotiations, he did manage to leave out some important facts. In reality, Mayweather vs. Pacquiao would have happened a few years ago, if the Filipino congressman had agreed to undergo Olympic style drug testing (OSDT).

Pacquiao balked at the idea of OSDT for years, but he eventually softened his stance due to the negative reaction he was getting from hardcore boxing fans. He still refuses to allow the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) to administer the tests, but he is open to other organizations.

Pacquiao also deserves some of the blame for the results of the last round of discussions, considering the fact he made multiple excuses to avoid the fight. When it didn't seem like Mayweather would be able to make the May 5 date due to his legal troubles, Pacquiao was eager to fight on that date. But he quickly changed his tune when Floyd's sentence was postponed, claiming he wouldn't be able to start training camp on time due to a cut suffered against Juan Manuel Marquez in November amongst other things.

I used to blame Floyd, but when Tony posted that timeline, and I looked into all the shit that was in that timeline, and started looking at Bob Arum, the shit got strange and shady.

Ain't no tellin what the fuck Bob Arum was doing. He probably was telling Manny, "You lil pinoy bitch, if you fight him I'll gut you like a fish and you'll never fight again. You'll fight who I say you fight and for what I say, you hear me, Manny?" That nigga Manny probably just smiled like he always does, like when he got robbed by Bradley, and just said "Ok" and then started talkin about politics and religion with Arum, as if Arum actually wanted to hear that shit.

The problem with the time line posted is that it was from FloydHype.com and hella shit was left out. I can post shit from golden boy, I can post shit from Ross Greenburg, I can post shit from Floyd saying "Pacquiao is next" then days later "I never said that, I never said that" or "I'm on vacation" etc. If at this point people still can't see that both parties were at fault then I can't help them out. Both sides could have done more if they really wanted the fight that bad, period. Instead both sides had more demands, both sides were hypocrites, both sides took back previous statements, etc. If it wasn't drug testing it was money if it wasn't money it was dates if it wasn't dates it wasn't something else.

People still bring up Floyd's $40 million dollar even though it's proven it 100% could not have worked while Pacquiao was under contract with Top Rank. Yeah, you think Pacquiao could just accept, completely cut out Top Rank and be promoted by Golden Boy/Mayweather? Think Bob Arum would say, "sure Pacquiao, go right ahead. Ignore our contract and take place in the richest fight in history, I'll rip up the contract and sit this one out". Use some common sense people.

It takes two to tango. Roy Jones vs Bernard Hopkins in 2001-2002 is a great example of that. Both sides could have done more. Roy Jones wanted 60%, Hopkins wanted 50%. Neither would budge. If Jones really wanted it he would have taken 50%. If Hopkins really wanted it he could have taken 40%. At the end of the day they couldn't agree because of their ego's and because they were both doing their own thing at the time making legacies for themselves, i.e they didn't need eachother, just like Pac & Floyd didn't really need eachother being that they were both fighting for over $20 million a fight.

Jones should have gotten more since he was up 1-0. Bernard should've taken the 40 if he wanted it bad enough! He ended up getting his revenge when Jones was shot! Should've taken the 40 before Jones started getting beat by everybody.

Thing is you could make a case for both and if they wanted the fight that bad they could have made it happen, doesn't matter which side u go with that's what I'm trying to say. Hopkins just beat Trinidad and would have to move up two weight classes and got financially robbed in the first fight so I see hopkins point. Jones was p4p 1 at the time so I see his side as well.

Okay...since you are hinging around Pacquiao's contract as to why he didn't go out on his own and make the fight...why didn't Pacquiao take the opportunity when his contract ran out with Top Rank? At that point he could have teamed up with Mayweather and Golden Boy for a 1 fight maybe 2 fight deal and fought Mayweather and cashed out...but he signed back with Top Rank with NO hesitation for $1 (sarcasm). What's funny about your Mayweather argument is the only thing you have is a public statment from Mayweather about "Manny your next". And as far as the 50/50 or 60/40 split...that is irrelevant...because Bob Arum wasn't agreeing to any of it...so that trumps anything Manny is talking about. You keep saying both sides are at fault as if they are equally to blame but the weight is shifted to the Manny/ Arum side to where it damn near touches the ground.

Why didnt Floyd sign with Top Rank for a one fight deal? He was a free agent.

Why does it matter who Pacquiao wants to be promoted by? If he wants to be promoted by Top Rank that's his decision. If sergio martinez wants to be promoted by lou dibella instead of golden boy or top rank that's his decision. Again what a fighter does with their money is irrelevant.

I get it I just don't agree. If someone beat me and I wanted revenge, I'd accept less money to get revenge especially if it's p4p Roy Jones. Bernard acted like he wanted the fight but then over-priced himself out of the fight and blew his chance of beating Roy when it counted.

Tony this is extremely simple logic Im using here it's frustrating that you can't grasp it so Ill say it one last time. The point isn't about what side you agree with, rather both guys had the oppurtunity to do more if they truly wanted the fight. Thats it. We're not debating who's side you favor more or less.

Well what more can a mf do bro? If you're number one pound for pound and you've already beat a mf one time, shouldn't the loser accept the winners terms (especially if it's at 60/40) to get him back in the ring?

I know you're a Pacquiao and Hopkins fan but come on now! I see your logic just don't agree with it. I don't see what more could have Roy and Floyd done. They were the top dogs at the time and Floyd still is. Negotiate, accept the terms, and fight. If you win, then you get to dictate the terms the next time around.

Didn't Floyd concede to Oscar's demands just to make the fight happen?

Oh come on...Floyd sign with Top Rank...you know the answer to that...Bob Arum wouldn't have that...and neither would Floyd...why on earth would this be a arguing point? Also I never stated what they should Do with their money...you know if you put ALL the negatives of Floyd on one side and you put ALL the negatives of Pacquiao on the other...you would find that Pacquiao's list has a lot of preposterous statements and actions and varied buffoonery...Floyd on the other hand may only have 3 questionable eye raisers...and 1 explainable gaffe. Please I'm not referring to what the fighter DO with their money.

Jesus christ man. What more could have Jones done? Accept the terms obviously. That's the point. If he REALLY wanted the fight bad, it could have been made.

I'm also leaving out shit because it's completely besides the point. Hopkins actually did eventually accept 60/40 but when the contract was sent to Hopkins the terms actually made it so Jones would take about 75% of the purse.

Because you know damn well Pacquiao wouldn't have signed with Golden Boy after all the shit and slander they talked, that's the point. Floyd would never sign a one fight deal with TR and Pac wouldn't have signed with GB after all that drama, so you're point was silly.

Then I'll concede this as a conclusion...we have swept away all the trash and found out what is underneath at the foundation...and that is...the 2 promotional companies...in the end created the biggest barrier to the fight. Manny needs Top Rank...he will not deal with Golden Boy...Floyd needs Golden Boy...he will not deal with Top Rank...damn...where is 50 Cent when you need him? So no matter what Floyd or Manny wanted...it just wasn't gonna happen...not to mention the fact of how Floyd operates along side Golden Boy with his revenue earnings off everything sold under the building then you add a third promoter in Top Rank and the money isn't as lucrative because of the 3 way separation.
