Great move, he's gonna be hungry to prove himself. I think he's still a top CB, just played in a system he isnt built for. I can see him starting for us by mid season.

look for Nnamdi to beat out Rogers, and Rogers get cut, then Woodson signed with the salary cleared by rogers release, either that or rogers restructures to be a backup

Looks like Rogers wont get cut:

49ers CB Carlos Rogers' $5.5 million base salary became fully guaranteed when he was kept on San Francisco's roster through April 1.
The fact first appeared on the SB Nation blog Niners Nation and has since been confirmed by Joel Corry of the National Football Post. The signing of Nnamdi Asomugha is no threat to Rogers' roster spot. He'll also collect $350,000 in offseason bonuses. Rogers turns 32 in July. His play has slipped off a career year in 2011, but Rogers remains a solid and versatile cover corner

Looks like Rogers wont get cut:
49ers cornerback Carlos Rogers is due to earn a base salary of $5.5 million in 2013, under a contract that looks a lot better now in light of the recent developments in the free-agent market.

Contrary to reports that the full amount of the salary became guaranteed on April 1, PFT has confirmed that only $1.25 million of the base salary is now guaranteed for skill and salary cap. That same amount has been guaranteed for injury from the time Rogers signed the contract last November.

It means that the 49ers could choose to put the squeeze on Rogers at some point before September to give up some of his $5.5 million salary. Sure, he’s guaranteed to make $1.25 million this year. To make more than that, however, he may have to agree to take less than $5.5 million.

Next year, Rogers’ salary jumps to $6.25 million. In 2015, he’s due to earn $7.25 million.

In other words, regardless of what happens in 2013, he’s destined to face a salary squeeze in each of the following two years.

49ers ink RT Davis to 5-year, $37M extension
49ers signed RT Anthony Davis to a five-year, $37.3 million extension.
The deal includes $17 million guaranteed, and locks Davis up through 2019. The 2010 first-round pick had two years remaining on his rookie pact. Davis had a breakout year in 2012 after the 49ers briefly considered moving him to guard during the offseason, grading out as Pro Football Focus' No. 3 right tackle. Although still not a dynamo in the passing game, Davis took a step forward in protection. Davis has started 48 consecutive games since coming into the NFL. He's still only 23 years old. Colin Kaepernick now has both of his tackles locked up through 2017.

I agree, but how elite is Aldon exactly? He didn't do anything without Justin Smith next to him while Mike Iupati is easily one of the best left guards in the league regardless of who's around him.
Very true on the Justin Smith front. The same could also be said about Iupati having Staley next to him though but not quite to the effect of both Smiths being on the field at the same time though.
