Just to point out Leonard gave Hagler the majority of the money in return for the ring size and 12 rounds instead of 15, which Hagler was perfectly fine with since all he wanted was the money since he thought he would destroy leonard. As far as Hagler being on his last legs also not true he was 31 when they signed the fight and retired at age of 32 not because he was old but because he was "disgusted" in what he felt was a robbery (but Leonard clearly won in my eyes but that's another debate). Carry on.

I think in terms of being a top fighter, he was on his last legs for sure. He beat Mugabi but I think he had a much tougher than should've been time with him even though Mugabi was obviously super tough. He also fought a lot of guys moving up in weight to fight him which probably helped preserve his career a little and might've had another year or 2 at the top had he won that fight. I think he had over 60+ fights at that point off the top of my head and had been in some really tough fights. It's not a knock on him, that's a lot of fighting in a career. He is one of my top 3 all time favorite fighters but I think the decline was evident personally

Why should he be compared to Ali? Robinson or Leonard? Ali, I don't see it. It's hard for me to compare the guys in different weight classes just like it's hard for me to compare the guys fighting 12 round championship fights to those who fought 15 round chapionship fights.

As for Leonard, all of his demands were met for his fight against Hagler. Ring size, glove size, money, everything. If the other people aren't stepping up to the plate and proving themselves why does he need to fight them? Why does he have to prove his worth? He's already going down in history as one of the best. If he were to stop fighting today and Canelo were to stop fighting today, who would the boxing world talk about? Who would sports writers talk about? Would boxers say, "Now that Floyd is gone" or "Now that Canelo is gone?"

So no, he doesn't have to prove anything to me, his fans, the boxing community, etc because he's done it by beating everyone who was placed in front of him (one questionable win however and I'm not talking about the Ortiz victory) and has made history.
He doesn't have to prove anything to any of us but he is the one calling himself the greatest of all time and not living up to that in my eyes and the eyes of nearly all boxing fans. Tremendously skilled and brilliant in terms of ring IQ and business saavy, but in my view, you cannot be the best unless you faced all the top opposition available. There are a couple of huge misses in that regard with Pacquiao being the biggest which stood to be the biggest money fight of all time over some b.s. on both sides but Floyd is to blame and still talks the PED nonsense all the time.

Explain what you mean by being on his last legs? He could have easily fought for a few more years the man was an absolute machine, a beast that was never really hurt in his career (maybe the monster shot Hearns landed on him in round one "hurt" but he didn't budge). He was like Bernard Hopkins x10 in how he treated his body and his nonstop work ethic.

Mugabi was a beast too undefeated at the time.

Was Hagler in his absolute prime when Leonard fought him? No but he was still close to it and wasn't past it by a long shot. Leonard was simply one of the greatest boxers of all time and Hagler completely underestimated Leonard, just like everyone else. Hagler also gave away the first four rounds fighting southpaw, a foolish mistake which showed just how little respect Hagler gave Leonard. He thought he would knock him out and he got out boxed for most of the fight. His argument was that Leonard's punches didn't hurt him and he ran, well that's not how you score rounds. In those rounds Leonard won Leonard was sticking and moving and landing shots while Hagler was chasing him around the ring. In the close rounds Leonard would land flurries in the final 20 seconds or so (he was a master at stealing rounds). Now of course Hagler did have some clear rounds he won and he hurt Leonard, and honestly that's why I think some people say he won is because he landed the harder shots. But over the course of 12 rounds Leonard simply won more of them than Hagler.

last legs as a top fighter. I think he was on the down slope to be honest. He was getting slower and looked like his best days were behind him. The difference in the way he looked vs Hearns to Leonard is pretty big to me and it was gradual. It wasn't that Leonard was so fast that it made him look that way. Not that Margarito is anywhere near this class, but he reminds me of him in some ways. The Clottey fight, the Williams loss, the destruction of Cintron then Cotto... It wasn't that he couldn't fight, but you could see that he was gradually eating more and more punches and getting slower as time went on. Maybe I'm wrong, that was the way I always saw it. But yes, he was a machine and always in ridiculous shape.

Floyd is a bitch man. I know you're a fan of his and that's great. The only thing I have against him is denying fans of fights they've wanted and has consistently done so since the DLH fight. Answer this, when was the last time Floyd had an even-odds fight? Floyd is a great boxer, but he fights very low to low risk fights and has done so for quite some time now. I didn't say he needs to give him a guarantee, but I would be absolutely shocked if he ever fights Canelo, and I'll be the first to admit that he's not even an accomplished fighter. Everyone knows Floyd tries to make the most money he can, well that's the biggest fight that can be made. He also made a ton of b.s. excuses for not making the biggest fight that could possibly be made.
Well Hersey already served u on this so need for me to school u even more. Keep hating on greatness but thats all u will be doin. Canelo aint jack and aint no one trippin off Canelo. Let the man beat atleast a decent fighter at that! Got Em!!

RG looks hella overweight. I think he'll be too "built" by the time the fight starts so he's gonna run outta gas, unless he tries to go for the KO, which it seems he might do.
