And apparently no one understands the purpose of these types of programs. It's not for purposeful gun owners. it's geared towards getting people who have guns laying around that they don't really want to get rid of them before they get stolen or lost or whatever. The fucking ignorance is thick around here these days.

As to Shea's point, you forgot the first half of that amendment though. The whole 'well regulated militia' thing is absent from the vast majority of discussions about gun control and it really should be included.
