I didnt realize our QBs have the exact number of passing attempts

Alex Smith
153/218 13 TD's 5 INT's 104.1 Rating, Sacked: 24x

Colin Kapernick
136/218 10 TD's 3 INT's 98.3 Rating, Sacked: 16x

VD targets with Alex under center: 38

VD targets with Colin under center: 18

Thats really my only beef, VD is such a dynamic player that I miss seeing him get the ball. Win or loose Sat I think Harbaugh made the right choice

The kicking competition in San Francisco is officially over.

David Akers will continue to be the kicker for the 49ers as the team announced they have waived Billy Cundiff on Friday.

Cundiff was signed nearly three weeks ago amid concerns over Akers consistency over the final few games of the regular season. Akers missed 13 field goals during the regular season and had missed four kicks in the 49ers final three games.

San Francisco has carried both kickers on the roster since then but Cundiff was not active for the 49ers Divisional Round victory over the Green Bay Packers last week. Akers made his only field goal try of the game, a 36-yarder, and converted all six PATs in the 45-31 win over Green Bay.

If the 49ers win the Super Bowl, will they lose Randy Moss?

Today, Jim Harbaugh said he “definitely” wanted the future Hall-of-Fame receiver to return to the 49ers next season, but Moss was less definitive about his future plans.

“We’ll know once the season’s over, bro” he said.

Moss, of course, ranks second in NFL history in receiving touchdowns (156) and third in receiving yards (15,292), but the 14-year veteran has yet to secure a Super Bowl title.

At 35, he’s clearly lacks his past game-breaking ability and had 28 catches, 434 yards and three touchdowns during the regular season, with his reception and touchdown total matching career-lows. However, he’s been hailed as a model teammate and credited for aiding the development of Michael Crabtree, who became the 49ers first 1,000-yard wide receiver since 2003 this season.

In the locker room this afternoon, Moss walked by as cornerback Carlos Rogers was speaking to a group of reporters at his locker.

“Did y’all ask him about going both ways this week?” Moss said. “Tell them about that special play we’ve got in for you. The flea-flicker?”

When Moss left, Rogers, clearly amused by his teammate, said he wanted the wide receiver back with the 49ers for a second season.

“He’s special,” Rogers said. “He’s fun. A class act.”

During his news conference today, Harbaugh said: “For official publication, I, for one, definitely want Randy to come back. Hope he feels the same way.”
