There is no excuse for having testosterone.levels that high. Him pissing clean means nothing.
I'm not saying I believe his excuse. But he even had his doctor testify on his behalf at the athletic commission hearing stating it was the medicine he prescribed.

Is it bullshit? maybe
Is it not bullshit? maybe

Compared to other fighters who's piss is full of anabolic steroids like boldenone etc. Reem's excuse can actually fly a little bit better.

Reem can get away with his excuse due to the fact he didn't piss hot for any substance, just elevated testosterone. So his excuse of testosterone in his medicine the Doctor gave him can fly, hence the only 8 month suspension instead of a year suspension.

Not saying I buy it, but most people usually piss hot for an actual substance. Reem's drug test came back clear.
Right and thats all I was saying. Some folks do believe him as his situation was a bit different. Again for me I dont know if its the truth or not but as a fan I just want to see him back already. Whats done is done. Got Em!!

A ratio of 14:1 isn't something that can happen by accident.

I posted this awhile ago but everyone forgets.
I worked with Jason Guida. 90% of all fighters are on the shit. Half of them are retarded and will get caught. The only guys not on the shit are the guys who don't cut weight. And they're still on dietary and energy supplements.

That's why I don't even really give a shit. The testing in combat sports is a joke and you really have to be an idiot to get busted.

As long as combat sports have the current drug testing, which is conducted by the state athletic commissions, it doesn't matter. Unless UFC/boxing wants to get serious about cleaning up the sports and actually implement year round random blood & urine testing, this is the way it will be. And I don't see the UFC caring enough to take it upon themselves to do it themselves as their is no real reason for them to do so. People just don't care enough. This isn't baseball where everyone cares so much about precious records being broken. Same goes for boxing.

Maybe if someone actually died in the cage/ring by the hands of a guy who tests dirty after the fight, then maybe there would be enough public demand for change but it would literally have to take something as dramatic as a death for that to happen.

If fighters werent on shit literally every card would fall through. The chances of getting injured during training for MMA fighters is INSANELY high every practice session and recovering is even harder when you're training at that frequency/intensity. Every week I had a injury from BJJ and that was just BJJ. It's wrestling, bjj and sparring where fighters always get fucked up. My brother accumulated torn MCL, torn miniscus, torn bicep tendon, torn shoulder labrum and all kinds of shit all from just BJJ and wrestling in high school.

thats one of the reasons i stopped training MMA,was so many injuries...and i was just training cause i liked it...i had stretched out tendons on my toes from kicking...got my ribs broke...ankle and wrist injuries...numerous times i had bad headaches from getting punched or kicked hard. and i still get bad tendinitis on my shoulders from all the repetitve punching...

the dudes who fought professionally were all injury plagued.

it's not an easy life...

now i just train boxing and that alone is still rough...

i feel for the guys who give it their all and never make millions

What Berto tested dirty for had nothing to do with elevated levels. He got busted for Deca. His excuse was that he took an OTC which contained traces of nandrolone. That's fine, an excuse that is "possible". Unlikely, but it happens. Especially with what supplement companies will put out these days.

Getting busted with test levels that high cannot happen any other way than straight injecting synthetic testosterone. Overeem tested as someone running almost a gram a week.

Exactly. It's not as if his ratio was borderline like Lamont Peterson, for example, (who admitted he was injecting synthetic testosterone), whose testosterone ratio was just under Nevada's allowed 6:1 ratio, his was 3.77 to 1 and the only reason he was caught was because VADA used a carbon isotope ratio test which can detect synthetic testosterone, otherwise he would have never of been caught.

Reems ratio was 14:1. I can't stress this enough. There is no way someone can accidentally have levels that high! It's not humanly possible.

Side note Sonnen's ratio was even higher 16.9:1!

It seems the easy excuse here is to say you have a condition such as hypogonadism and you require TRT treatment. Any quack doctor can write this off, just like Sonnen and Peterson had done and I'm sure many other fighters. Keith Kizer has stated before there are fighters licensed in Nevada that legally have medical clearance for TRT treatment, so there is no telling how many guys get away with this.

Overeem will destroy Big Foot and then beat the brakes off Cain and will have the belt before the end of next year. Got Em!!
cain and overeem is an interesting fight .

overeem has world class striking one of the best in the world . his jiujitsu is underrated he's insanely strong , very technical . but his gas tank is horrible , and has a glass chin . i can see overeem stuffing the take down maybe and force cain to fight a kickboxing match. i think if overeem is constantly pressured it's not gonna be a good time and he would get finished . i can't call it

I have a script. It cost me $200.
Almost as easy as a medical marijuana license.

From a competitive stand point. you are only allowed to bring it back up to what is supposed to be your baseline. From a legal standpoint, the law will never run your blood.

Right.
I think the baseline needs to be defined by the commission, just to avoid conflicts. Not doing so will open a ton of doors for doctors and athletes to claim that the person has naturally higher testosterone levels. It's already a mess. No need to make it messier...
