(12-18) 18:03 PST SAN JOSE -- Reports of a gunman near the San Jose City College financial aid office sent the campus into lockdown mode Tuesday night, officials said.
"We had reports of a man with a gun at 4:30 p.m., so we are now actively searching the campus building by building," said campus security Officer Pete Luna.
Campus police said there were no confirmed reports of gunfire, but that the school has a shelter-in-place order in effect. Officers from the San Jose Police Department are assisting, but no other agencies have been summoned for mutual aid, officials said.
