Katt Williams’ troubles seem to just keep on coming. The comedian was asked to leave a Seattle hotel late Monday (December 3) just hours after he was released from King County Jail following a dispute at a bar. Now, the spiraling comedian says he's ready to retire.
In an interview with KOMO TV the stand-up comedian announced that he was canceling his tour and taking a break from comedy. Williams was scheduled to play Houston on Friday, New Orleans on Saturday and Mobile, Alabama on Sunday.
"I'm just gonna go ahead and announce my retirement from standup, I'm kinda done," Williams said. "I've discussed it with my kids, I wasn't gonna do in the middle of a Seattle street, I was going to go to Los Angeles and do it in the offices of ICM or LiveNation."
Although he wanted a more official announcement of his retirement, his recent troubles in Seattle have shown that the 41-year-old comic is slowly unraveling. Katt was showing his bloody knuckles and admitting his knees were “busted up” during the interview.
Williams didn’t say why he was asked to leave the Courtyard Marriott Hotel late Monday night. Police were present when Williams was kicked out of the hotel but he wasn’t arrested. According to Williams, the Courtyard Marriott was the fourth hotel that kicked him out in recent days.
Given his recent string of bad luck in Seattle, the comedian just wants to take to the waters with his family. Katt told a KOMO news photographer that he wanted to offer $301,000 in cash for the up-for-auction Washington State Ferry Rhododendron as a new place to stay. Not to mention that he wants to sue Seattle for defaming his character.
"I can stay [on the ferry], and my family can be there, and my dogs can be there, and my whole staff can be there, until we get done suing Seattle for this $50 million that I want for crippling my reputation as a father, and a black man, and as a taxpaying citizen, and as a person who is not a convicted felon," he said.
The past few months have been rough for Katt with everything from a cocaine-induced meltdown on stage to pulling an unloaded gun on actor Faizon Love. The comedian was also recently captured on camera slapping a Target employee.
