I need to really take a good listen to the Kendrick. I've finally came around to listening to it earlier after the huge wave of hype. Following XXL giving his album the "XXL" rating the other day. I like what I'm hearing, but the way niggaz hyped this made me really think this album was going to be on some Food & Liquor shit. Now I ain't no fan of the nigga, but I've only heard his "The Kendrick Lamar EP" and thought he def had some serious potential talent. I'mma run thru the whole thing some more b4 I make final judgement

Meek's though I will say that shit's sounding nice. MMG needed this release after all the current controversies they been in. That intro might be the hardest start i've heard on a rap album in a long time..

my exact thoughts. plus meeks voice is aggressive and moving to me he sounds more hungry then kendrick. kendricks voice boring as fuck and his raps be sounding like gibberish freestyles that go over mosts heads most the time. his album just sounded more like a mixtape to me then a complete album.

Thanks for everyone who contributed to this thread its always good to hear opinions since everyone has different tastes in music.

but congrats to both for even being able to drop they debuts bc theres alot signed rappers who wont see a release date for they debut albums. the reason i made this thread is bc both these guys are being talked about majorly positive or negative and their albums will end up being rival since they a week apart.

who yall think will sell more?.

kendricks album sounds like giberish cause your nawt listening to the lyrics how each song in the album ties into each other kendrics album is like a lil movie each song plays off the other song while meek mills album is just every where no one complete direction kendricks album is about quality and meeks is quantity. Kendricks concept goes way over head on meeks yes meek has that raw feel but kendricks about how life is for the youth more reality than fiction thats in meeks rap overall meek ablum was alright but like someone said he had prodution that sounded like somthing i heard a thousannnd times But i give it to kendrick i expected somthing gritty and rough from meek ... Kendrick fan since 2009 and meek fan since flamers series

Is it me, Or Meek sounding like some old Yukmouth where he like almost yelling? Im not sayin he sound like him, But style was or delevry or early 2000 Guce Bully Wit Fully's...Kendrick i think is a lil over hyped he cool, but XXL rating thats a lil to much i do like meek album cause i like what he talking bout lil bit more, Me like that street shit..The yelling kinda kills it for me

0R0 @0R0 how is the meek album?
There was about an EP of good songs, 4-5. Most of them sounded like slight variations of the same song tho, or a rawse song. The songs that brought some variety to the table ranged from weak to downright terrible. I'm just not a fan of the "MMG sound", these piano driven takes on trap beats. Doesn't hold a candle to Kendrick's album imo, even if it's an easier listen.

also lol @ ppl still putting stock into XXL ratings like its still the 90s

Im downloading the Meek right now, I cant see it touching KL's album though, its a game changer and something that can be played in its entirety...
