Presumably, he’ll be wearing his Giants hat.
After showing his support in a possibly expensive way, 49ers quarterback Alex Smith will throw out the first pitch tonight when the San Francisco Giants open the playoffs tonight against the Cincinnati Reds, according to Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee.
Smith was threatened with a $15,000 fine by the NFL for wearing a Giants cap during post-game interviews, and Giants manager Bruce Bochy wore a 49ers hat later to show his support.
The two teams are growing closer and closer, as they both enjoy tremendous success. Giants legend Willie Mays visited the 49ers Wednesday, and signed autographs for coach Jim Harbaugh.
Maybe if the Giants and 49ers continue to win, the football team will let Bochy call the coin toss before a playoff game. And if you’ve ever seen the size hat Bochy wears, you know he’ll call heads.
