Xorcist is x's best album. The shitty phone vocals are part of what makes that album so good imo

whoever mixed the phone vocals on "xorcist" did it right, cuz that albums a classic, no doubt. we tried doin it in the same fashion with "evil makes my dick grow", but mufuckaz musta had some real good equipment to work wit on "xorcist". either that, or the phone quality was better back then...some of the more recent phone verses he's done havent been done much justice as far as mixin goes. the jacka track, for instance.. it all depends on who mixes it.

It ain't just mixing. I think phone quality in sac county jail (even back in the early 90's) is way better that most prisons. Most prison's are many more decade's (if not almost a century) older and mostly they are in rural area's. Sac county jail is right in the middle of downtown and is a much more modern facility in comparison. I think that is why exorcist was able to be mixed as good as it was.
