i think everyones got different opinions on what a "mobb beat" is. Its definitely more than 40's airy, empty, feelingless, one dimensional beats. a mobb beat is not a high hat, a flat snare, and that Lil Bruce vallejo metal "ting" sound they loved to use back in the day
The prototypical mobb sound beat to me is "doin dirt bad" that song is so fucking awesome

imo 40 trying too hard to fit in with the youngins lets be real thats why he went got 2 chain feats and etc. he can get smoother sounding beats back but only thing he fucking with his son on beats heavy so its not gonna happen.

The only thing I can say to that is 40 always fuck with new talent. I started takin notice when he did "Automatic" wit Fabolus, that one track wit them niggas from Virginia at the time(Quarterbackin), the track with Fat Joe...even Busta Rhymes. Really though not even "new" talent per se, just who's crackin at the time. 40 was fuckin wit 'em. Simple networkin.

don't forget he was fuckin with cash money before they really blew up too... One of the things that keep him relevant is his abilty to fuck with relevant people and not come off as out of place... Which is why most people consider him a solid dude...

Not even close. C-Bo "Black 64" or The Click "Be About Your Paper" are mobbed the fuck out. Throw in Raw Game by Nonfiktion as well. Maybe even Tryin To Get A Buck or Federal could fall in there. Those are prototype boom-blam-bumble beats. Pretty much anything Mosley and Bostic touched as a team was mobb shit 100% though.

Nope, you're not the only one. I fall in there too, i like select songs and i can listen to him because of the beats but i wouldnt say im a big e-40 fan or that i get excited about his new solo albums.
