Hell, they changed shit, so I can't chase down the mentions.
Great advice, but inapplicable. Her mom hates me, and I've been dealing with her bat-shit-craziness since we started dating.
Both her mom and dad are intellectuals (e.g. really smart people with little moral compass and inability to function in social settings), and they are hard to crack in terms of getting along with them. Long story short, my gf points out to me that every time her mom curses it's in front of me(she does not curse at all, otherwise), and she will argue with me about the most trivial shit until I get bored and change the subject. In short, her mom hates me because I offer her daughter a lot and her daughter loves it, but she's losing her grip on her since she moved off and is gaining her independence.
It's a whole mess of psychological bullshit, and I'm well versed in psychology, so I'm taking the high road and leaving my girl out of the equation on my side, and not talking to her parents at all.
The worst thing you can do to an intellectual with a complex is give them nothing to use as fodder for their ideologies.
