I'm the only one who thought it was sort of close. I'd give Rios about 4 or 5 rounds.
Abril didn't really do much other than walk backwards, throw some quick shots, then hold and turn his shoulder when Rios got close.
Rios applied pressure, banged to the body, and landed harder shots. Backed him up the whole fight.

Abril probably should have won, but it's not like "oh wow, what a robbery". He really didn't do much either.

I think u are. abril totally controlled the fight and rios hardly landed a clean shot. all the solid shots were from abril. can't see rios winning more than 3 rounds and that's being generous.

Top Rank is at it again. Rios got exposed and got a gift win. So now Rios can fight Marquez or Manny. lol..
Marquez or Manny? He is not ready at all and never will b ready. he struggles against toothpicks. welterweights will knock him the fuck out. let him fight Amir Khan.

They made it sound like Abril was giving him a boxing lesson and taking him to school. It's easy to look like that when you don't engage. He won a boxing match. Abril did great. I just don't know about "worst decision ever", "Rios only won 2 rounds", etc. It was bad, but not one that I would lose sleep over.

I do agree with Bigface on the exposure. Not in regards of the overhype, but mostly about being one dimensional and not having a plan B. Horrible game plan.

I guess if you don't stand infront of Rios like a punching bag, he has a hard time hitting you. Like I said before I can't wait until Rios moved up to 140lb, so I can see his overrated shit talking ass get knocked out.

Abril was more in line of fighting while going backwards. You don't have to stand in front of the guy, you can be slick and fight at the same time. Look at Bradley, he's in front of you but hard to hit. Same with a ton of other fighters. Abril straight back peddled for 12 rounds.

If Marquez wins tonight Rios and Marquez will be fighting next and the winner will fight Manny if he beats Bradley. Arum already has plans made till 2013.

lol no he didn't. he stood right in front of rios often in the fight in his mayweather-like stance and Rios couldn't land anything.

Sure Abril made it a boring fight but that doesn't mean he didn't easily win the fight. He clearly won 9-10 rounds.
