Red Riding Hood

I had hopes for this movie to be something spectacular since Dicaprio had his hands in it, but it was awful.

AWFUL.

Not even staring at Amanda Seyfried the whole time made me want to finish it.
yeah DiCaprio was involved, but it was made by the director who's last film was Twilight, that shoulda raised suspicions breh.

saw this last night

Cedar Rapids. it was alright, nothing special. It had some funny moments like when he was saying goodbye to the hooker, she said "You can fuck my ass if you want" and he wanted to but his freinds pushed him into the car. also funny when Isiah Whitlock was doing his Omar impression.

id give it a 6.5/10

I watched a movie called MILF last night (through Netflix).

It was cool because it had a lot of titties and it had a little bit of a twist ending. If you like mindless buddy comedies with a lot of titties, then you should watch this one at least once.

Jack Caine (Dolph Lundgren) is a Houston vice cop who's forgotten the rule book. His self-appointed mission is to stop the drugs trade and the number one supplier Victor Manning. Whilst involved in an undercover operation to entrap Victor Manning, his partner gets killed, and a sinister newcomer enters the scene... Along with F.B.I. agent Lawrence Smith, the two investigate a spate of mysterious deaths; normal non-junkies dying of massive heroin overdoses and bearing the same horrific puncture marks on the forehead. This, coupled with Caine's own evidence, indicates an alien force is present on the streets of Houston, killing and gathering stocks of a rare drug found only in the brain... Caine is used to fighting the toughest of criminals, but up to now they've all been human

if you like 80s-90s action this is pretty cool..7-10

An unemployed defense worker frustrated with the various flaws he sees in society, begins to psychotically and violently lash out against them.

been meaning to watch for this a while and finally saw it this past weekend...really good movie pointing out the disconnect and coldness in today's society although it tries to do too much times and comes off a little wacky but really good nonetheless...7/10

Watched a bunch of movies over the last week.

Unknown - Liam Neeson in Berlin. Decent action thriller with a twist. Had some funny/strange moments if you know German/Germany... 3/5

Battlefield LA - AMERICA FUCK YEAH! That's what I got out of it. Special Effects were alright, but more or less mindless action. 2.5/5

Priest - Could have been good, but it had too many flaws and the ending sucked. I thought to myself "that's it?"... 2/5

Cedar Rapids - I liked it. Not over the top funny, but has it's moments. 3/5

Paul - Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. Can't really go wrong with them. At first I thought that Seth Rogans voice as the alien would annoy the shit outta me, but I actually thought it was a good choice after I finished the movie. 3.5/5

I refuse to watch Paul. I just feel like thats Simon and Nicks' "sell out" movie. Looks extra corny.

Anyhow, i watched The Adjustment Bureau the other night. Talk about a movie being mis-marketed. Wow. If you have seen the previews for this, you would say "oh, and action thriller". Not the case AT ALL. This is a love story. And even more, its a case study on human emotion and free will. I wont go as far as saying that it has religious undertones, but it does use religion in its message--not as a vessel--only as a guideline in its plot. And even then, its somewhat clever.

And i like Matt Damon personally. He is supposed to be a young Kennedy-ish politician on track to become the youngest congressman ever. He gets derailed by a fling he meets, and thats when things get weird.

3/5..

Black Swan

Interesting movie. I liked the use of music in the film. It was just important to the movie as it is to a ballet. Cinematography was decent as well. I didn’t feel anyone was really outstanding though. Portman was good and trying to remember her competition for the Oscar she probably deserved it, but to me it wasn’t anything jaw dropping. The parallels to the ballet were a bit overly obvious, but I thought the psychological aspect was pretty well done. Didn’t expect the ending, but I liked it. I’d be willing to watch this movie again with someone who hadn’t seen it, but I won’t go out of my way to re-watch for myself.

I don't think it's a sell out movie. When I saw the trailer I hated Seth Rogan as the alien. But then when watching the movie it wasn't that bad...

What I loved the most was the stabs at religion. I don't know how the movie did in the US, but that would be a reason why it was not so successful there lol...

If you enjoy movies like Can't Hardly Wait then I think you will like this one (if you don't then stop reading and go fuck yourself). I knew when I saw the previews that I was gonna enjoy it based on similar films. The movie grossed under $7mil which means two things (1) movies like this are a dying breed (2) it wasn't very good. There is just something about high school party movies that I find comical/enjoyable. I wouldn't consider myself a fan of Topher Grace by any means (though, I did like That 70's Show) but he was perfectly cast for this role. Dan Fogler was annoying at first but as the movie progressed I thought his character was actually pretty funny. I can't rightly scale this movie so I'll just give it a PASS. It has some funny characters, funny scenes, but it doesn't hold a candle to movies like Can't Hardly Wait or Varsity Blues. I liked it and I think it's worth watching.
it was pretty entertaining. some of it was painfully akward (intentionally and unintentionally). you're not missing anything if you don't see it, but its worth a watch if you have some spare time. 6/10

The Wolfman

Terrible special effects. Very noticable CGI. The transformation to werewolf was ok, but given the budget and technology it shoudl have been better. American werewolf in london was better in this regard. The actual werewolf looked like a cartoon/joke. Good amount of gore, but nothing was impressive. Some elements of the story were unclear. Most actors seemed like they phoned this one in. I was able to finish the movie, but would not recommend it to anyone. .5 out of 5

Bangkok Dangerous (1999) (the original)

Pretty good film, the plot was much better than the remake.

The Lost Bladesman (2011)

Good film as well, some of the action scenes are so fluent but there are not enough of them. I didn't really buy into the storyline or character either, it just didn't feel well done. The plot had great potential though.

It falls into the same category as The Prestige for me, as I have seen this movie multiple times, but a lot of audiences haven't. I thought it was excellent. I felt involved in their conflicts a lot more than most movies I've seen in the past few years.
