so question for the droid goons

would you recommend the TB over the Incredible 2?

I have the Incredible 2, and I really like it so far, no complaints, but I'm still debating on whether or not I should get the TB instead... I have 2 weeks to return it for a new phone

do you guys think the 4g LTE is worth the extra money and shittier battery? also I like the fact that the Incredible 2 is less bulky than the TB... I'm not trippin off the slightly smaller screen

and for the record, I live in a 4g area, I'm right outside of Oakland, and I work in Oakland, so according to Verizon's map my area is 4g... but I may be moving in a few months... so... I dunno

input from folks who have used both phones? thanks

ive been comparing verizons charge and thunderbolt and the charge wins for me

the charge's battery life is said to last much longer than the TB...on top of the screen is still viewable in the sun...i liked the TB but the charge has the same features plus some

and hell yeah 4G is worth the extra dough...29.99 unlimited data fuckin right..i barely make phone calls anymore...everything is in the data plan for me

wait... I still get unlimited data for $30 a month with a 3G phone... just not as fast

I don't get what you mean

pardon me if I'm ignorant or misinterpreting what you're saying... but what I'm asking is the 4G THAT much faster... and is the TB (or Charge) worth the extra dough for the initial price of the phone

I paid $200 for my Inc2, I've seen the TB listed as $250, although it was $300 in the store I went to, and I'm pretty sure the Charge is $300 too

4G IS that much faster, I've seen people posting speeds between 6-12Mbps...as opposed to around 700Kbps on 3G, so literally 6x faster. I know you probably don't think you need that much speed but the more you use your Android, the more apps you will find that will run better with that like the MLB app, Dropbox (when you have to download files) etc.

There is no difference in costs for 3G and 4G right now, so the only difference would be in the phone's actual cost.

well... damn...

now you guys got me thinking I should trade this shit in and cop a 4g phone

the guy at the VZW store said he didn't think 4G was that much faster, but he kinda seemed like he didn't know what he was talkin about, or didn't care

so is the battery life really that shitty like I've read??

I've seen some things that people have done on the TB to give you a better battery life but there's supposed to be another update to it that fixes the problems. The Droid Charge on the other hand is another 4G phone which has really good battery life, not sure if you've seen that yet.

yeah I've seen the Droid Charge, I'm just not a big Samsung fan

I've had a couple Samsung phones... the last Samsung phone I had was the Instinct on Sprint, and it was a complete piece of shit... I understand that phone isn't on the same level as the Charge in terms of all the features... but it was just a shitty phone, didn't even receive calls on it... ever since then I try to shy away from Samsung... especially dropping $300 on one of their phones

4G is the future and because it is new it may even increase in speed...if you stick with a 3G phone than your not required to get the unlimited data package

the TB was 249.99 at the VZ store i went to...i was hooked on the TB until they gave me the catalogue of all the new phones coming out...and the Charge does everything the TB does with a few nicer features...i was almost going to hold out for the sony xperia play ( ps phone ) but the only thing it really had going for it was 2.3 gingerbread...the phone itself was pretty weak

even if they could fix the TB battery life they cant fix the screen compared to the charge...i much rather have the super AMOLED screen that the charge offers
