though one time i was walking into a liquor store. lady bum comes up to me and asks if i might have any chance on the way out, would i kindly give it to her?
thought i was flipping the script, and told her that i was short on change to buy a blunt, would she kindly mind giving me some?
and the broad digs into her pocket and tries to hand me like a dollar in change. and a slice of humble pie with it.
YOU BUM FUCKER YOU!

I sent my lil bro 2 beg a few times...

Seen him walk up on a dude walking up in2 a QFC and asked in a very pathetic voice...''excuse me sir, do you have sum change"? The man pulled out a hand full of change and said "Yes I do" than stuffed it back in his pocket and walked in the store.

There use to be a homeless woman bum in the town for years. We called her spasms. She barked at us one morning comin around the lumber store on the way to school..we ran.

I recently seen a bum holding a sign that said. To ugly to be a prostitute.

This thread is almost 10 years old.
good call

Yeah but bums are always relevant.
even more so these days...seems like it more profitable to go out 8 hours a day and beg then to try and get a real job....

bout to start seein this TV infomercial on how you can become a bum for only 24.95 and if you act now you'll receive a free child (must shipping and handling ) here are some bullet points to consider when considering a bum lifestyle:

outside work environment
take home pay daily
be your own boss
travel
tax free
appearance/hygiene ( dress how you want/smell how you want )
on the job drinking/smoking ( including illegal substances )

heres some customers

these people all look able bodied...

that mexican needs to be at his local lowes or home depot like he was raised..thinking outside the box like that only stereotypes him into being a lazy mexican
No doubt, every mexican I worked with got shit done. One small dude drywalled an entire side of a building (huge one too, was going to be a school) by himself while a group of 3 white people just got started on the second room..

No way in hell are mexicans lazy, I'd hire them before white people since one mexican is worth 5 white people..

the same mexicans may have gotten the job done quicker and underpaid but the lasting outcome

I think the homeless need help. I understand most people's position on it but sometimes I've just chopped it up with homeless people. Half the time people judge them or stare or tell them off etc... I've learned that nearly all of the homeless people out there were living life as we know it and something happened. Not out of the ordinary but maybe a quick combination of things and before they knew it, they were homeless.

Got laid off from a job, wife got cancer and died within 2 months. Couldn't pay the stupid high medical bills nor did they have any income and had no one else to turn to. Stuff like that. It's also tough to even get back on your feet if you're homeless. Who's really gonna hire you? Shelters are full nowadays too.

I don't really have a lot and I'm probably almost poor by a lot of peoples standards but I'm not one of those people that complains about "oh, we need to help our own before giving out foreign aid" and doesn't try and do my part to help my community.

that don't mean they aint got mental issues...

Most of the bums around my neighborhood is some kind of fucked up in the head. Over where I work at we have em sweep the lobby take out trash and clean up the glass from the cars that got broken into so our customers wont be scared to park there. We give em a few dollars, sometimes they come back with a tall can for me too. I aint trippin, there's a few bums that I chop it up with from time to time and I'll give em some change or a cigarette every now and then. Whenever they got an extra cigarette or tall can they'll hook me up too tho so it's all gravy.

this is the worst time of year for bums. theyre everywhere, playing people who are easily manipulated with emotions. its annoying that they make downtown look real nice for the holidays, but it cant be enjoyed at all by decent persons because bums plague the whole landscape. they should round them all up and make them pick up litter on the side of the freeway or something. anyone who is homeless for more than a few months is full of shit.

mental issues? more like drug and alcohol addictions......

yeah paying bums to do chores employees should be doing as part of their jobs...you ever fed a stray cat? always come back eventually for that hand out

me personally i dont have the time to bullshit with people that care to rot they own lives away...sure i understand people get put in situations were shit snowballs and they end up on the street...time to build some character and pick yourself up off your ass and rise up....and if you do have mental issues...there all so many fucking programs out there these days that can help with that..even set you up in some sort of housing and possibly disability income....so dont give me that excuse...

the fact is...most of these people enjoy the lifestyle, there is a sort of freedom about it...no jobs, every day is different, no taxes but more importantly no real authority...most of these people dont like structure..get drunk get high all day on somebody elses dime...

My wife and I were talking about this the other day. You'd be crazy too if you had nowhere safe to lay your head at night, you're never sure when you're going to eat. People clown you every day. You probably have no friends, no one to talk to. If you do talk to someone, they're probably saying something negative to you. The people that actually talk to you, may have mental issues of their own.

I don't know about y'all, but if I don't eat or drink enough water for a couple days, I get headaches which are enough to make me feel like I'm not myself. String that along for a several year stretch added with all the stuff I just said, you might be crazy too.

Not to mention there probably are alcohol and drugs associated with a lot of homeless people.

No way would I agree that MOST homeless people like being homeless. Most of them could change their title to helpless
