It's not really the Templar map, it's Lorenzo's palace, hence "Palazzo Medici." It's the building just short south of the northern entrance. On the bottom right corner in the alley is a door marked by the Assassin's emblem (as all secret entrances are). It glows white.

About shit on discs but not IN GAME. They do this with games all the time. People who have modded Xboxs a certian way and know how to hack can open these things. Halo had a BUNCH of hacks. there is a soccer ball on top of one of the buildings that you can only get to by hacking the game. Engineers (for halo fans) were also in the HALO 1 disc, but they never appeared in teh game. they were suppose to appear in "The Silent Cartographer" but can only be viewed with a hack.
same with the Flood Juggernaut (thank god)

na the thing i've read is this shit is not something you have to download
its something which is already on the disc and is part of the game, but you need a code to unlock it
and to get this code you have to pay extra to get the special edition of the game so how can they make you pay more money to play something which is already on your disc

I bought the Master Assassin Edition for 360 which came with the code you get for pre-ordering (Palazzo Medici), as well as another code for the Santa Maria Dei Frari building.
To be honest, you really aren't missing that much by not having access to either building. The only thing you get from it is a little more exploration and some regular Florin treasures I believe.
The maps themselves weren't worth the extra coin, but I do like the Ezio statue and artbook. I'll probably watch the bonus making of DVD sometime. It also has the soundtrack which might be worth a listen.
I beat the game...it took me around 25 hours I think. It took a while for the game's story to really get going, but once it did it was an awesome game.
