You are entitled to your opinion. As I am entitled to mines.

FUKC YOU and the Paleface horse you ride on.........

Young Kev hasn't recorded a new song in over 5 years, and he's still on your mind.......

:knockout:

He ain't on my mind. I completely forgot about the dude until his name was brought up in this thread and then I remembered I actually wasted $15 of my money buying a album that was pathetic attempt at music. I ain't judging the dude as a person cause I know he's been through some shit that I hope to never have to go through, but his music sucked and it's probably a good thing he hasn't made a song in 5 years. At least he was smart enough to know the rap shit wasn't workin out and just hang it up. I applaud him for that.

it would be nice for another city to get exposure and see its talents but i think KC is just fine with its underground stuff. i would hate to see people get caught up in this garbage mainstream crap unless they could take it over and rebuild the mainstream.

Listen I don't know where you got all butthurt by my comments all of a sudden, but to clarify why I say "who cares" in this thread...

1. Nobody on this forum really likes the mainstream in the first place.

2. This thread is 50 years old.

3. Only a handful of people on this forum are from KC anymore.

4. Who gives a shit if the KC music scene becomes mainstream? It's not like music coming out of KC has a largely unique sound.

Oh, and 5. Despite putting out KC BBQ albums, Strange is based out of LA.

Not butthurt, just confused on why someone would take the time of day to talk about a subject they could give a fuck less about. Obviously people posting in this thread care about the KC music scene. Strange is based out of LA? Oh really? Go on with your hating everything and negative thoughts Zero, sounds like a miserable life buddy.

Edit- I think you're a funny guy and seem like a cool dude at times. I just dont understand why you hate on damn near everything on this forum.

Yeah, pussy and weed. I guess that makes every rapper you listen to a failure at life also. Plus I'm sure your life is filled with rainbows and fucking cupcakes, and you go to church every Sunday.

You bbq'd a few ribs and thought that you had the best party in the history of parties to the point that you made a picture of food your sig. You wanna talk about my life?

Are you a shitty KC rapper and that's why you're offended?

Otherwise kick some fuckin' rocks.

This thread was dead for three fucking years. The KC music "scene" wasn't shit then and it isn't shit now. I'm not saying that to be insulting, that's just the way it is. The only reason cities even "blew up" in the first place is because when one guy got famous he'd start a shitty rap sub-label and sign 25 of his friends and you'd have to listen to that bullshit. Juvenile did it, Ja Rule - Murderers, 50 - G-Unit, Nelly - Whatever the fuck they were called, Biggie had 'em, Pac had 'em. That isn't a place blowing up. That's one guys friends being able to put out a bunch of bullshit that never got played outside of a local club.

Strange is based out of LA? Oh really? Go on with your hating everything and negative thoughts Zero, sounds like a miserable life buddy.
What the fuck is so negative about saying that Strange is based out of LA. They keep their merch in KC so when you get a package is still says MO on it. That's about it. You let me know if I'm making that shit up.

Edit- I think you're a funny guy and seem like a cool dude at times. I just dont understand why you hate on damn near everything on this forum.
I'm just sayin' what everyone else is thinking.

They're not based out of L.A. as far as I know.

On multiple occasions, I've gotten a hold of different people at Strange and it's always in Blue Springs.

I've never had to call anybody in California. Strange Music West is not hq.

Then why does it exist?

But i could swear I remember a youtube vid or something where Tech was talking about moving out there.

Either way it's one little detail in a large point.

Tech moved to L.A. around the time T9X was shot (or shortly after) he bought the house he has out there and was living with wife and kids. You will remember the line from the "The Beast" "Cali is business, but man it's pretty". Him and his wife separated and he moved back to K.C. (Blue Springs) and bought a condo I am thinking about 4 and half years ago.

Missouri isn't exactly on the radar when you're not in Missouri-period. I've lived in Reno and now in a suburb of Phoenix and lots of people know Tech, but not anyone else. I'm thinking that's a sign that KC isn't blowing up as much as you may think (living in KC).

I would consider Cash Money a place "Blowing Up"...

But to me, the idea of a city "blowing up" is just made by the idiots still sittin' on the steps in front of their house with a need to feel proud about something. I doubt any rapper would be like "Yeah my city blowin up right now." He'd say "Yeah me n my boys blowin' up right now."

For Kansas City to "blow up", IMO, that would mean that every citizen on KC is a rapper and they're all good. Besides Tech I think I heard someone say Black Walt or S&S are the hottest things in KC right now. Nobody knows what the fuck S&S are doing anymore and the only blowin' Walt is doing is for a cigarette and a box of fruit loops.

Brotha Lynch Hung
Cognito
Jay Rock
T-Nutty

. . .

All of which have a place to go to instead of flying to KC when there is business to discuss.

That's why there's Dave Weiner over there acting as official spokesman for Travis and playing the A & R game while big T is over in Blue Springs intimidating the shit out of someone in his dimly lit, noir-style, mob figure office.
