Yo Gotti has signed a deal merging his CMG imprint with L.A. Reid and Epic Records.
Following in the steps of Young Jeezy who recently aligned his CTE imprint with Atlantic, Yo Gotti has reached a partnership deal between CMG and Epic Records. Gotti hinted at the merge when he posted a pic of himself, and long time music mogul , Epic Chairman and CEO L.A. Reid. The Memphis native has confirmed that CMG reached a full distribution and promotional deal that is multi-tiered and worth millions.
Discussing the decision to sign with Epic, Gotti says he wanted to expand CMG’s reach, and felt partnering with Reid was essential, “This is a solid partnership that allows me to do what I do on bigger platforms, with the respect and support of the Epic team. Throughout L.A. Reid’s career, I realize he has been a part of creating some of the biggest superstars in the industry. I feel there is no better person to partner with.”
Further explaining how beneficial partnering with Epic will be, the CM7 rapper mentions the success CMG had reached independently with marketing, “The independent success we’ve had thus far with our tour, merchandising and projects from myself.” Gotti adds how it will benefit him and his artists, “my first artist Zed Zilla has given me the perfect opportunity to create the best possible partnership for CMG.”
