Not familiar with YG Hootie? You should be! YG Hootie is a BrickSquad Monopoly affiliate who has been featured heavily on various Bricksquad 1017/Monopoly albums & mixtapes. Most notable – YG Hootie was featured on 5 songs from Waka Flocka‘s platinum+ debut album “Flockaveli”.
Hailing from Compton, CA. YG Hootie released 3 critically acclaimed mixtapes (Young Compton, Prince Of The Bity & The Culmination). Upon dropping his first mixtape, YOUNG COMPTON, The Source featured YG Hootie in the heralded “Unsigned Hype” column. Also, various outlets such as XXL Magazine reviewed his mixtapes with great fanfare.
While YG Hootie’s name began bubbling thru the underground, he was attending the prestigious Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA. It was through his mixtapes and solid street credibility that YG Hootie caught the attention of Waka Flocka and became a member of the BrickSquad Monopoly collective.
With Bricksquad Monopoly in tow, YG Hootie released 2 mixtapes, “Flight To The Motherland” and “Red Zeppelin”. Both featured the entire Bricksquad Monopoly family: Waka Flocka, Frenchie, Gucci Mane, Slim Dunkin’, Wooh Da Kid, OJ The Juice Man and more. YG Hootie has also toured the country with Waka Flocka and was featured on the Club Paradise Tour which Drake spearheaded as well as headlined.
Fast forward to present day, YG Hootie is back in Los Angeles and preparing to release his new project, “Destroy & Rebuild”. The album, “Destroy & Rebuild” will be released October 21 2014 and is a sure shot project with features from: Waka Flocka, Kendrick Lamar, Problem, TY$, Mitchy Slick and more….
YG Hootie’s first single “Run It” produced by KEonTheTrack (producer of Rick Ross & Jay Z “Devil Is A Lie”) will be serviced in October and promises to be the smash of the year! But until then, be on the look out for exclusive music and content coming from YG Hootie.
