Since the release of the Dr. Dre executive produced soundtrack and film, the industry has been buzzing with opinions, what if’s and why’s. DETOX the album that never came cause Dre was simply not happy with it’s sound. Being quoted as in saying:
I didn’t like it. It wasn’t good. The record, it just wasn’t good. … I worked my ass off on it, and I don’t think I did a good enough job.
Well, today we got wind of some news that Bay Area producers “The Mekanix”, will take on the task of filling the void that has left so many rap fans clueless. We spoke with 4Rax’s, one half of the duo super producer team, he could only say, that the project is in the works and will have a Bay Area feel with a So Cal influence. No track list or features have been revealed yet, only the cover art with its unique backwards spelling (XOTED pronounced DETOX) with the Bay Area City silhouette and Los Angeles Palm Tree’s.
