Chief Keef’s album deal details have surfaced online and it looks like the Finally Rich rapper won’t be seeing most of his money until August. That’s when the Chicago native turns 18. Keef is signed to a three-album contract with Interscope, according to DNAInfo, and has a separate deal to control his own label.
The deal could pay Keef as much as $6 million over a three year span. That doesn’t include royalties. The terms of the contract were made public because a Cook County chancery court has to approve contracts for anyone under 18.
It should be noted that, if his 2012 debut Finally Rich doesn’t sell at least 250,000 albums by December 2013, Interscope can terminate subsequent album releases, according to the terms of the deal.
