Details of Snoop Dogg’s reggae album have surfaced in an official press release from his management.
After appearing on a new Dogg Pound track released earlier today, The Dogfather has now announced the official release date for his Reincarnated reggae project.
As reported by Miss Info, it’s scheduled to hit digital shelves on April 23rd, three days after the international marijuana holiday that is April 20th. Features include Movado, Popcaan, Rita Ora, Drake, Akon, Chris Brown, T.I., Busta Rhymes and Anglea Hunte.
Snoop had this to say of the project:
“We were searching for true reggae music and the message of peace and hope it reflects. It’s so much a part of who I am, and this record is all about paying homage and giving respect to those who created and love reggae music, and hopefully introducing it to a whole new audience. I feel truly honored to make this album and respect to all who blazed the path for me.”
The album’s release is a collaborative effort between Vice Music, Mad Decent, RCA and Berhane Sound System. Mad Decent label head Diplo is serving as executive producer.
Stay tuned for the upcoming single “No Guns Allowed” which features Snoop’s daughter, Cori B.
