Detectives are looking at surveillance video and searching for a suspect who fatally shot and killed popular San Jose rapper Saturday morning outside a bank at the Hillsdale Shopping Center in San Mateo. According to San Mateo News :
A man was shot to death near Hillsdale Shopping Center on Saturday morning, police said.
San Mateo police were called to the Wells Fargo branch at 81 W. Hillsdale Blvd., across the street from Hillsdale mall, at about 9:25 a.m. for a report of a shooting, said public information officer Michael Haobsh. Officers arrived about a minute later and found a man lying in the parking lot with at least one gunshot wound.
According to several eyewitnesses, Haobsh said, a second man had approached the victim on foot and shot at him about five times before running away.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene within a few minutes. His identity will be released pending his formal identification and notification of next of kin by the coroner’s office.
The eyewitness accounts of the incident lead police to believe it was a “targeted and isolated” incident, Haobsh said; no arrests have been made and police are seeking all nearby surveillance footage of the area.
Anyone with information or videos related to the shooting may contact Detective Sergeant Paul Pak at 650-522-7660 or [email protected], or anonymously at 650-522-7676.
