Armed with blistering bravado and mind-bending visuals, rising emcee Raldi proves he’s absolutely one to watch for this year with his trippy new video for “Blah Blah.”
The Lancaster, PA-based artist worked closely with director Sam Duncan on the video, which resembles the 2019 version of your favorite psychedelic rap video from the ‘90s (think Busta Rhymes, ATCQ). So, for every shot of Raldi spitting his slick talk, there’s symbolism-heavy footage of him hanging out with goats or getting shoved around in a parking garage.
The visuals, however wonky they may be, fit the track perfectly. “Blah Blah” itself is steeped in braggadocio, one of rap’s core tenets. But it’s all delivered in a way that’s strikingly off center thanks to Raldi’s shape-shifting delivery and producer Flvckobeats’ infectious instrumental. The two also bring a melodic element to the affair, particularly on the incredibly catchy hook, which helps cement “Blah Blah” as one of 2019’s most exciting singles to date.
