Christmas is a time of year when the spirit of giving finds its way into the hearts of millions across the world. For the last 22 years, Dr. Carroll & Shaback Ministries has been one of the organizations bringing this spirit to the community of Southeast San Diego with its annual “Christmas Extravaganza.”
This year, the event took place on Christmas Eve at Porter Elementary School, located at 445 S 47th Street. Mitchy Slick, Cee Jay, Ric Nutt, Shon Williams (Shony Bo), Quincy Bush, Jermaine Pillis (Demon), 5000, and Lil Pretty Tone of Wrongkind Records were there to lend a helping hand as thousands of toys and groceries were given away to people in need in their old stomping grounds.
The young homie Nathan Stinson was also in attendance. Stinson is a Helix High alumni who now plays Division I football at Northern Arizona University. Along with sharing his thoughts on the event, Stinson talks about his high school football career and what the transition from high school football to college football has been like for him.
