Toronto born, Brooklyn based Hip Hop Producer Marco Polo is an absolute legend. On episode 47, I run the gamut of growing up in Canada to venturing to New York to intern and start the networking journey that would eventually land him placement on hip hop heavyweight albums. We chat about what it was like to be on a record with Pete Rock, being in MF Doom’s hotel room, and crashing studio sessions at Rhettmatic’s crib. Fueled by the excitement of these opportunities and the exposure they have provided, his focus remains on his love of producing songs. We end things by talking about the legacy of Masta Ace and the aspirations they share heading into 2020. Needless to say Marco Polo is intent on staying at the top the hip-hop heads’ playlists while expanding the audience and helping the genre evolve sonically for years to come
