Another month, another quality video from Lord Jah-Monte Ogbon. The tenth installment of his ‘Best Rapper In Charlotte’ series, this song has recieved the usual high quality video treatment. Beginning with the rapper’s stony, unflinching gaze on the camera, the visual contains all the hallmarks of a classic Jah-Monte piece: the vivid images of street life, the carefully chosen backdrops, and the subtle homages to the culture he loves. In one scene, the rapper says that he ‘might not ever go back to Charotte’, evidence that while he has love for his city, his claim as their ‘best rapper’ is only truly valid as long as he stays there. In many ways this is Jah-Monte’s most personal visual to date, unveiling the rapper as an individal in a more transparent way than ever before.
