In this episode, we had the pleasure of sitting with hip-hop historian and former Emcee, GQ Tha Teacha. As we delved into his life story, GQ shared his unique journey of being born in New York City, then moving to Belize, and finally settling in Chicago.
He reminisced about his early days as a rapper, and how he was introduced to the art of rapping while riding the train and witnessing one of the legendary Kings of Comedy, Known as Bernie Mac making a profit from his comedy on Chicago’s Green Line Train.
GQ also opened up about his time at 106 Jamz and the valuable experience he gained while working with his mentor, and Chicago radio legend, Rapmaster Pinkhouse. Hearing GQ’s story and his contributions to the Hip Hop community was truly fascinating and an episode worth streaming.
