Devin The Dude has been making everyman stoner rap for over a decade, and he’s always brought a considerable amount of narrative to his verses as well.
“Lifted”, his new collaboration with Doughbeezy is a little more of a straight ahead party track, with Devin breaking out a double time flow– a far cry from his usual conversational delivery. He pulls it off flawlessly however, and even acknowledges the change in styles with some of his trademark humor; “I normally don’t rap like this/ but I gotta hurry up, ’cause I gotta take a piss”.
The song will appear on the new Intervention Episode 2 compilation.
