In a world, full of social media and shock value antics, it’s hard for people to fully grasp the true understanding of what you might be putting forward. It’s even harder to live your life the way you see fit without some form of backlash. But despite the social frustrations, there are some few who managed to slip through the cracks, and this someone just happens to be Deez Inglez.
Coming off a couple years of dropping heat after heat in the music circle, Inglewood, CA rap artist Deez Inglez is undoubtedly one of the more underrated lyricist on the West Coast. His broken flow has transcended the times, almost like artist E-40, Blueface, and other artists who sonically put spitting game over rhyming words. Now he’s back with another extended EP, rightfully, titled “Misunderstood”.
This 9 song project, “Misunderstood”, is a great collection of nostalgic beat, making along with modern lyricism that comes from his hometown stories and tribulations. Starting it off with “I Seen It All” featuring Lovey Jean & produced by Local Astronauts, set the tone with a smooth, melodic sample, complemented by Deez storytelling into the luxury lifestyle that he is accustomed to. Records like “2-3 Zone”, “Niiiice”, and “Avez” ft Jojo follow the energy of a Currency – Griselda like production. Standout record like “Pressure” featuring Planet Asia and “The Industry” featuring the late great OYG Redrum, show the wordplay and witty flow of Deez Inglez.
“Misunderstood” is definitely a dope project for a ride on PCH, or on the block getting to that work. Just make sure whenever you play it, keep the Inglez in it.
