For the first time in years, January was a better month than December for hip hop. At the close of the year, hip hop fans finally got their albums from Wiz Khalifa, Game, Big Boi, and the others. However, the biggest draw was January’s Long.Live.A$AP, the debut album from A$AP Rocky, and a host of mixtapes.
Joe Moses, Vado, Casey Veggies, YG, Juelz Santana, and Curren$y are among the number of artists who dropped mixtapes in January. New Jet City was met with a strong fan reaction. The mixtape features appearances from some of the biggest names in the game, including Rick Ross.
