In the midst of rehab for a torn quadriceps tendon, Portland, Oregon rapper Cool Nutz was undeterred by his devastating injury. Somehow, he managed to film the visuals for “Got A Dream” during the process, not wanting to slow down for even a second.
“I wanted to stay working and not have this sideline me from my current and future ambitions of continuing to make quality contributions as one of the leaders of the NW Hip Hop scene,” Cool Nutz tells DX.
As a pre-cursor to his forthcoming album, Pig Ears & Chitlins, “Got A Dream” details his tumultuous journey and serves as an ode to the changing face of Portland, and the consequences of the city’s gentrification. With guest spots from Mistah Fab, Mitchy Slick, Illmaculate, Bosko, and more, the album promises to be an incredible aural experience. Pig Ears & Chitlins is scheduled for a November 15 release.
