Bootleg is a member of one of the most respected rap groups to ever come out of the Midwest which is Flint Michigan’s Dayton Family. While he was on the Murder Master Music Show to speak about his new solo album The Transplant Bootleg revealed that he had a heart transplant and has been living with a new heart since 2013. Bootleg details having a machine pump his heart and eventually having heart transplant
I had alot I wanted to say on this album after I had the transplant in 2013. I can honestly and truly say that I had a different look at life and god gave me a different outlook on life. It made me wanna be committed to helping as many people as I can. I don’t wanna die with the knowledge that I have without giving it to my kids, and anybody that wants to listen.

I got put on the LVAD and that is a machine that you carry in a bag to pump your heart for you. They ran thru my side and cracked my ribs and had a heart operation to put the LVAD on me and when I got the machine I was content with that. I didn’t even want a heart I thought I’m alive I got this shit on me, I can deal with this. God was so good to me three weeks after I had the open heart surgery a heart came in so I had to have an additional heart surgery and I had to double recover. Alot of people wait years but I got a heart in 3 weeks.
Was content with living with machine
When I got the LVAD I was happy and I celebrated just having that. I was carrying 6 or 7 batteries around with me and have a charger, it was like I was a literal IPhone, I had to charge myself up but I was thankful that I was alive. When I wake up in the morning I’m instantly happy. If I can put my feet on the floor I’m celebrating that day!
