A pair of incarcerated felons hailing from the East Coast Boroughs of ‘Strong Island’, was re-arrested on Thursday, and have been charged with the slaying of Queens rapper Lionel “Chinx” Pickens, according to authorities.
Quincy Homere, 32, and Jamar Hill, 26, were already serving time behind bars on unrelated charges when evidence led authorities to arrest the pair in the May 2015 murder of the up-and-coming hip-hop star.
“GOD is good and he hears your prayers,” Pickens’ widow Janelli Caceres wrote on Facebook following news of the arrests.
“I’m very relieved that we’re at this point,” she added in a brief interview with the Daily News. “We’ve been waiting for this day for 2 1/2 years.”
Pickens was sitting inside his silver Porsche at a red light on Queens Blvd. in Briarwood when a car pulled up and at least one occupant opened fire, shortly before speeding off
and disappearing into the ongoing traffic.
Homere and Hill were expected to be arraigned later Thursday on a five-count indictment charging them with murder, attempted murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
If convicted, they each face up to a maximum 25 years to life in prison.3
