HULK HOGAN SIGNS WITH TNA AND GUESS WHO HE'S BRINGING WITH HIM
by Mike Johnson @ 2:35 PM on 10/27/2009

TNA President Dixie Carter and several top flight TNA officials are at Hulk Hogan's press conference in New York City at Madison Square Garden right now.

The former WCW and WWF champion has inked a deal to join TNA with former WCW Vice President Eric Bischoff joining him in the company as well.

Obviously, this is going to be the start of major changes for the organization.

We'll have more on this breaking story shortly.

This could go both ways....I just hope TNA doesn't turn into WCW 2.0. I know this is bound to piss some of the wrestlers and employees who had problems with both of them off.

MORE ON HOGAN AND BISCHOFF SIGNING WITH TNA AND WHAT THIS MEANS FOR TNA CREATIVE

By Mike Johnson on 2009-10-27 14:46:22
For those who have asked whether Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff coming into the company means they are going to take the reigns of TNA, I am told, "absolutely not."
I am also told, and this one shocks me personally, that the signing is not a precursor to removing the current TNA creative team. Given Vince Russo's past issues with Hogan, that is going to be extremely interesting to follow.

There are SpikeTV and TNA banners up at the Hogan press conference outside Madison Square Garden right now. Jimmy Hart is with Hogan as well. The signing was kept a secret to even the inner-most members of the TNA circle until today.

Hogan might be old as fuck but he is still the biggest name in wrestling. Ask your mom to name a wrestler and that's the likely one named. and I wonder what Bischoff's role will be....man this should be interesting.

you mean it hasnt been for the last 4 years?
I mean as far as backstage politics and people running the show for their own benefit. TNA has the head officials who call the shots and the wrestlers have their own roles. I'm pretty sure alot of TNA employees still hate Hogan and Bischoff from the WCW days...

the addition of eric bischoff is the main thing though, i think he'll make the most of this move, i'm sure he's still kickin' himself in the ass over what happened in wcw, the money he made but the impact, i'm sure he wants to do more

Yeah I think Bischoff would be a good addition to the creative team, not sure how him and Russo get along these days, but this is gonna be a positive move any way you look at it to boost TNA and put them on the map. WWE needs some competition, thats what makes the best television.

i think tna can sense the tide shifting a little in their favor i mean how can not look at wwe and think "this shit sucks" they know it eric knows it...and i'm sure dixie can care less now about what he said she needs to take advantage of this and move forward with better shit

vince will be shittin' in his boots, how can he not be worried

ERIC BISCHOFF'S ROLE IN TNA
By Mike Johnson on 2009-10-27 15:10:47
Eric Bischoff will be partnering with TNA via Bischoff-Hervey Enterprises, according to a TNA source.

Bischoff was instrumental in Hulk Hogan signing with TNA and will be working with TNA going forward in creating new TNA television product and in securing television deals for those entities.

TNA has been looking at expanding their television product as their newest SpikeTV deal allows them to shop new series outside of Spike, should Spike pass on them. In the past, TNA has looked at launching series for the Knockouts, The X-Division and the Jeremy Borash-hosted Spin Cycle.

I am told that while we may see Eric Bischoff at some point appearing on TNA programming, he's more going to be partnering with TNA behind the scenes, as opposed to working day to day creatively.
