yeah
clear channel got caught up with payola so they have to offer more air time to independent artists. might have somethin to do with this
http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-payola6mar06,1,6478844.story
"The radio chains, which didn't admit wrongdoing, agreed to pay a collective $12.5 million in fines and dedicate a total of 8,400 half-hour segments to independent music over the next three years."

ouch these clear channel stations being forced to show a little love to the independent artist. and they shouldnt be able to get away with airing all those segments in the middle of the night either.

actually, only 1 of the stations added is owned by clear channel... and no one is being forced to put the show on. all of these station's program directors are anxious to see what kind of reaction it gets from their audiences. more than anything, i'm excited to see all the bay artists fab is playing on the show get play on commercial radio outside the greater bay area!

^^^ok not forced..."required"

According to news reports, the new settlement affects four big radio chains ---- Clear Channel, CBS/Infinity, Entercom and Citadel. They're finalizing a deal with the FCC that would require them to play 8,400 half-hour segments of more obscure artists, such as local and independent singers.
^^its not just clear channel. but really, i wonder if picking up the Yellow Bus Show counts towards those newly required segments??? that could end up helping add lots of new stations, which would be dope!
