WWE registered the trademark "WORLD WRESTLING FEDERATION" on Wednesday, November 2nd, 2005. The usage explanation for the trademark reads, "Entertainment services, namely, the production and exhibition of professional wrestling events rendered live and through the media of television; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network."
WWE is currently prohibited from using the term "WWF" due to the lawsuit they lost with the World Wildlife Fund a few years back. It is not know if they plan to offer the World Wildlife Fun an offer to allow them to use their old name again.
