Writing raps

I heard most bay artists write their material while they are high or drunk...is this true? Do any of you write your material sober? Just curious.

Danksta rappers like myself love to write with a blunt.Its not needed but it relaxes me while I think of shit to write.

I can write drunk, but I prefer to write while sober. Thoughts are more clear when I'm sober, and I don't over or under-do it. I like to be sober so I can pick my choice of words very carefully, and plan out each line...cause if a rapper is not careful, what he says can make or break him.
