I don't think Mosley will be in contention for a fight with Manny.

I don't think Team Pacquiao would take a fight with him at '47, and I definitely don't think Mosley can make it down any further below that.

I think that the winner of the Mayweather-Marquez match should be the next to fight the King. I think Floyd will win, but either of them would be a perfect setup for another mega-event in the winter.

I agree, mayweather-marquez winner is the most logical choice and that's my vote.

I was thinking about Cotto and at first thought it was crazy, but after further thought, why the hell not? Cotto is only 5'7 and fought a lot of his career at 140. They are pretty much the same size. I think I would actually favor Pacquiao over Cotto at this point as well, I just think pacman is too fast, too explosive for cotto to deal with. Would be a great fight.

And yeah Mosley is pretty much out of the loop, I just included it in here because I remember someone basically saying Pac aint shit unless he beats Mosley. I think Mosley should fight Paul Williams. Or if not, he should fight the Cotto/Clottey winner and Pacman should go after Mayweather/Marquez.

Mosley needs to man up and fight the monster P-Will.

Yeah, I think Arum is using the 'Cotto' fight as leverage against Floyd (of course, this is assuming he wins his comeback fight) Anyways, he'd be foolish to assume that Cotto is just going to walk right over Joshua '5-head' Clottey.

But yes, I think we can truly gauge just how great Pacquiao is by a mega fight with the Pretty Boy. It would be the ultimate contrast of styles, not just boxing-wise, but as people.

One thing that bugs me about Floyd and his newfound 'big mouth' image is that he talks all this shit, and it really isn't complemented well by his really boring safety-first approach in the ring.

He talks all that shit about having the highest grossing fight ever, but in reality, I think that fight did more damage for the sport of boxing in the long run. Most of the people felt ripped off by that horrendous card, especially the main event.

Casual fans tuned in to see Floyd predicting an all out war and fireworks, and all they got was one of those poppers you throw on the ground.

real talk i was one of the mufuckas that felt ripped off...can't deny his skills, but in my opinion the way he fights he shouldnt be talkin wreckless the way he do. the mufucka had the nerve to talk shit about mma fighters like they wouldnt brake his shit off in an mma fight.

Mayweather talks like that because he knows people will tune in, to either see him win or in hopes that he gets knocked out for talking a lot of shit. Boxing is a business and he knows how to make money in it. I guarantee he'll do the same shit against Marquez and then against Pacquiao if he wins, and make a grip in the process.

His "safety first" approach is part of the game. The #1 priority for any fighter in the ring should be victory. If you can do it in an entertaining fashion, that's great, if not, do what you gotta do. Win today, entertain tomorrow.

No, I know exactly what you mean.

But I think its somewhat detrimental to the sport for a guy to talk big like that, and essentially not deliver on what he's promising, when he's telling people that they are going to get their money's worth and see an all out war, and fireworks, etc.

Did you really think Floyd/DLH would be an all out war? For everyone I know that ordered that fight and complained about how shitty it was, they also ordered the Mayweather/Hatton PPV in which he delivered a stoppage, that included a face first dive into the ring post.

As cocky and arrogant as Floyd is he's brought plenty of attention to the game. I was watching the fight at my homies house and they had a few people that didn't know dick about boxing that were hyped about the possibility to see Mayweather & Pacquiao in the ring.

^ No doubt.

I knew what to expect before watching the fight, because I've seen enough of Floyd's fights to know what type of fight it might be.

But I'm referring more to casual or even new fans, who might have just tuned in based on Floyd's ability to sell the fight...then tuned in, and were let down by the absence of what was promised.

Most of the people I work with I would categorize as casual fans, and I don't remember any of them being happy with their purchase.

cotto a pitbull if i was pac-man ill wait and go for the winner of fagget scary ass floyd vs marquez. i think cotto could fuck up floyd j.r. cotto vs pacman that shit would be a bad ass fight im dont know who to pick cotto has power and he could move around and comes in not like hatton slow and just stands there i wonder how pacquia would react when he feels cottos power i think that would be pacquias toughest fight. pac-man should take other fightz first cuz he dont want to loose everything over night.i would be more worry of cotto than fagget scary ass floyd that runs away i think pac-man has quicker feet than floyd jr and would catch him and knock out floyd

I think Cotto would fuck Pac's world up, If Manny and his camp was smart they would take the Mayweather fight cuz Mayweather doesnt have power like Cotto

the thing about the cotto fight is cotto would have to go DOWN to 140-142, roach said it cant be over 142. Cotto was pretty weight drained at 140 which made him a bit chinny. I would favor Pac over cotto at 140, but at 147 all bets are off

Hands down, Mayweather fight would be twice as hard for Manny stylistically, IMO.

Cotto can be lured into a brawl, and when he does, especially at the lower weights, he is susceptible to being caught clean, and being hurt. (See the Torres fight)

Mayweather on the other hand, doesn't beat you with power.

He throws sharp accurate punches, and has a defense that is 'impregnable' as Iron Mike would put it.

I don't think Cotto is going to have an easy fight by any means, and I think an upset, wouldn't be so much of an upset. Clottey is one of the most underrated fighters out there.
